This story just won't die. You would have to have scarlet-colored glasses to think that this is not some sort of gamesmanship on Urban's part, but why are we only hearing it now? Was this common practice in the SEC? It seems interesting that O'Leary points out that it happens in his conference. Is this a serious problem or do you think it will eventually blow over?
Also, don't any of these coaches have BTN2GO?

From another article I read it's more unwritten rule BS
Edit: Also you can easily see everything you need to on ESPN3/BTNtoGo, seems like they're trying to make a big deal out of it just for the sake of making a big deal out of it
Then who cares?
Because we couldn't go for three.
It's not as simple as just looking at ESPN/BTN. The tape that each school receives are from several specific angles(end zone views, etc) that aren't available from a simple telecast. I think this issue with Nebraska is more of them being cautious than saying OSU hasn't sent the proper tape.
No, I realize this. I was being facetious by asking the B1G2GO question. Funny how Nebraska being cautious has caused a stir.
Because we couldn't go for three.
This seems like such a non-issue to me. I don't know if all conferences have these "rules" for exchanging tapes. And I'm not sure how things are done in regards to non-conference games either. I remember hearing that Oregon State didn't send Wisky game films prior to their non-conference game this year, a game the Badgers lost.
All I hear is "call the waaaaaaaaa-mublance", just mad that we are so good and the "sanctions" were supposed to hurt us....so much for that!
During the B1G teleconference, Pelini said they often get film from other opponents, and they did not have any issues with the film exchange with tOSU.
Yeah, this seems to be a gentleman's agreement a la the no recruit poaching non-scandal from this past off-season. I was just sort of surprised Dr. Saturday was making such a big deal out of it. Typically, that blog likes to let things play out before stirring the pot.
I think the fact that Pelini didn't mention it as a problem tells me that it's a B1G thing. This is why the B1G is mired in mediocrity. These coaches depend on gentleman's agreements of yore to dictate league policy. Cry me a river, crybabies of the B1G.
Because we couldn't go for three.
Actually I doubt this is only a B1G thing as there have to be guidelines regarding what you send to you opponents so that is fair across the board. So even though Pelini stated the tape was fine, it doesn't mean what we sent to MSU was OK. Being able to see pre snap reads is very important in esp when preparing for an offense like ours, so IF(notice I said if) our tape was cut then I can understand where MSU is coming from. To me, it seems like it was an accident and Narduzzi jumped the gun a bit with his accusations but I definetely understand the point behind the B1G rules here.
Couldn't they use the ESPN tapes to see the presnaps or are they to stupid to do that?
Nope....like I said, they use different angles, specifically the cameras at the end of each goal post so that they can see the line splits and gaps. As a coach, you cant "just watch ESPN". Anyone who has coached, esp in college or pro, will tell you there are very specific things they look for when watching film and an ESPN telecast will not show what they need seeing as ESPN might use a different camera angle for each play or or change cameras away from what the coaches really want to look at.
No violations=OSU will keep sending tape with what they want in them;-) Smart if you ask me...there's loop holes everywhere gentlemen...it's a matter of finding them.

If you don't think continuing to do it won't come back to bite us then I think you're being a little naive. I don't mean that in a school yard name calling way, and of course I may be wrong, but it goes both ways. My guess is that at some point other schools start doing it to us, and if you think Braxton and our MLB are having troubles making reads/progressions now, wait till he is doing so based on doctored footage ... but that is just my lay opinion. I have never coached on any level, so I will defer more to cincyosu, he sounds like he knows what he is talking about.
