I read on Buckeye Planet that Kimbrough was offered. Can the staff confirm? Also, will he seriously consider the offer or just shrug it off and stick with Georgia?

I live in indy and watched him live this year. Kid has some talent. We will see what happens though. Haven't heard anything from anybody else sayign its true though about the offer.
Yeah, I would want the staff to confirm before we go too far with this. I didn't read this from an official source.
He was an OSU lock for a long time and he never got an offer, never understood that. I can understand if he doesn't jump at the chance right away if true.
If true, I wonder if this is an effect of Urban getting "more involved with the defense."

Last spring, we could have had both Mike McCray and Kimbrough. By waiting too long, we'll likely have neither. Staff screwed this up.
Staff called his HS coach to see if Kimbrough was still interested in an offer, obviously he said yes.
Glad to see the kid finally got the offer. I thought and also agree w/ many other ppl that this kid should of had an offer from Day 1. Kid is always all over the field & plays from sideline to sideline very well. He was along time Buckeye lock, but as he waited and waited and waited, the offer never came & he did what was best for him. I give this kid props for waiting so long & him still being interested in OSU after he is already committed to Georgia & finally getting an offer shows how much he wanted to be a Buckeye.
If he is legit interested, then I think he will be Buckeye bound. Especially since most kids that got burned by the staff then offered down the road, tell the staff its to late n all that. Kimbrough wants to be a Buckeye, always did.

Would you all have said the staff screwed up if Neal and AA were still Buckeyes? Kid had to wait for an offer, but he got one now. His choice if he wants to let his ego get in they way of playing for the school he loves. I'm not saying it's wrong if he wants to go to UGA, as they are a good program, but if he wants to be a buckeye, swallow the pride
Very interesting. This kid was a Buckeye lock in the spring. Had us number 1 for a couple of months and never had an offer.
Wonder if he'll feel slighted or just feel excited for the offer from his favorite school.

True. Interesting timing. After AA recanted his commit, I thought Kimbrough was a lock to get an offer. Did he show up to Friday Night Lights?

I never really understood why he didn't get an offer to begin with (or McCray for that matter).
Tenn the reason they didn't get an offer was we had lewis neal and Anzolone committed, also I think Urban had higher expectations of the 5 LBs he brought in last year
Sent a text to Tim and he's not commenting on it to me at this time...I will keep working on it...what I heard is that the staff has definitely reached out to see if there is interest on his end...he always wanted to be a Buckeye but it is unknown if there are sour grapes now that OSU gave him the cold shoulder
Lewis and AA both decommitted last spring. Why wait until now? Because our current linebackers aren't performing?
Just seems like the staff really struck out this year on OL and screwed up LB recruiting. I know they're always looking for the best, but other schools will be ready to pounce if you procrastinate on talented players who want to be Buckeyes. And that's what happened.

OSU2002Grad, I'm not ready to say the staff has struck out on recruiting. There are still 3.5 months until NLOI Day. Don't freak out yet.
If he really thinks that UGA is the place for him, then I wish him the absolute best. But if it's his dream to be a Buckeye, it would be silly of him to ignore a lifelong dream. It doesn't matter when you get your chances, it matters that you make the most of them. His parents will remind him of this.
One thing to remember is that, due to the bowl ban, Urban and Co. will have undivided focus on recruting after The Game to recruit until NSD. Hopefully it's not too late for Kimbrough, but given essentially two full months to go out and hit the recruiting trail hard, I have to believe that Urban will be able to get the players he needs to shore up the sieve we've currently got for a defense.

Excellent news. Always been high on him and really wanted him in this class. Just hope the staff isnt messing around and giving him a commitable offer(if there is an offer on the table). Other wise i can see our staff losing credibility with future recruits on this one as everyone knows how much he wanted to be a buckeye. He certainly waited a long time and hope they are not stringing him along.
