Did anybody else listen to Taylor Martinez's post-game press conf? He just seems completely aloof to me and doesn't seem to take ownership of the team's performance at all (excuses for interceptions, seeming to blame the defense - which they deserve, but still not something you do publicly - etc etc). Just doesn't seem like the ideal leader of a football team.

Excellent. Hopefully he sticks around and continues to lead from behind, after he turned the ball over 4 times no less...
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I would like to think, if I were a coach, and my quarterback said, "The game really didn't matter either way" I would start looking a new leader on my team.
It comes off as defensive, and a weak attempt at "We still have a chance to win the Big Ten!" <exclamation point is obviously sarcastic>
kind of makes Pelini's tirades at Martinez over the years make a little bit more sense, does it not?
the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up! - JLS
I watched Pelini's post-game as well. You couldn't hear the question, but Pelini addressed OSU's last TD. He basically says "I didn't have a problem with it, they ran a running play, I guess they could've taken a knee, but you gotta play till the game is over."
i know we'd like to see nebraska sulk over their loss, but it's not going to do them any good. i think it's a better attitude to keep your head up and move on quickly rather than let it kill your mojo
don't necessarily want to see sulking, but do you think troy smith reacts that way? tebow?

From everything I've read, Martinez has the reputation of not being a good interview. He always looks like he's uncomfortable in front of the media barrage, and may just hate the whole interview thing. It has to be difficult though for Nebraska to be so reliant on a guy who comes off as abrasive.
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Martinez is no John Simon. Martinez, with his attitude, cannot be a leader on or off the field. I have so much more faith in our team and captains to say the right things and to build off each game. How the Huskers could not get up for the #12 team in the nation on their home field is just not believable and Martinez should not have said it. It is true that if the Huskers win out, they will end up in Indy, but playing the Buckeyes was huge.
lol Is it just me or does it seam like the Buckeyes are going to have 11 rivalry games in the B1G after this year. I guess we'll have to see how Neb. feels about this game next year.
O H I O is the Buckeye State
If we go undefeated this year we will have a target on our backs all next year. Nothing anybody says or does will prevent teams from circling OSU on the schedule. Everyone will want to knock us off
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
"on the third one i kinda just lobbed it up there and the safety kinda ran under it..it was weird"
Well i like college and i like football...and im gunna keep doin em both cause they make me feel good!!!
Everyone always wants to knock us off. We're a trophy target for every team we play. No matter how bad most teams' seasons are, if they could beat us it makes it "special".
@XTREME
Unfortunately there won't be a next year for a while - we don't play Nebraska again for 5 years. Which is kinda neat...they get to stew over giving up 63 for 5 years.
All that said, I like NEbraska and their fans. I'd love for them to tear it up and win their division (although if TTUN is a contender, I'd like to crush that hope too).
