after week 6:
If I could vote in a poll, it'd do a little something like this:
1. Alabama-
2. Florida-
3. Kansas State
4. Notre Dame
5. South Carolina
6. West Virginia
7. Oregon State
8. Ohio State
9. Oregon- have played nobody of note yet, could be a top 3 team, but until they play someone, they have to go to the back of the line.
10. not sure here....toss up between best one loss team or throw in best undefeated Big East team. I'd probably put Stanford here.

just curious, besides the ever-so-accurrate eyeball test, that teams such as Florida State and Oklahoma pass year in and year out, then fail a real test against a not so highly regarded opponent........Why are many putting Alabama and South Carolina ahead of Florida right now?
Alabama - Wins against BCS schools Michigan, Arkansas and Mississippi
South Carolina- wins against BCS schools Vandy, Mizzu, Kentucky and Georgia
Florida- wins vs BCS schools- Texas AtM, Tennessee, Kentucky, LSU
JohnBlairGoBucks,
I see what your trying to say, but other than LSU there isn't a team on Florida's schedule that is head and shoulders above the rest. LSU, while highly regarded, had its hands full with Auburn, and lost to Florida not really a top 5 team at this point. Each of the teams on there have on signature win and Florida wasn't as highly regarded at the begining of the year. They play South Carolina and if they win out will be in the SEC title game against Alabama unless Alabama stumbles then it won't matter.

My top ten goes like this: Alabama.
thats it. I haven't seen any other complete teams this year. South Carolina looks like hey might be for real.
I'd really like for Oregon or West Virginia to win it this year. Not just to end the SEC streak, bu to do it playing a brand of football that repudiates the idea that SEC football is the only way to win. I've had enough of defensive struggles for awhile.
