I'll preface this by saying we are row 7 right next to the tunnel on the closed side of the field. We probably rely on the scoreboard a lot more than most because you really can't make out the down and distance because the flagpole (roughly 2.5 feet wide) and the crossbar block out most of the action on certain parts of the field. I will also say we had an awesome time and our scoreboard is light years ahead of most (Penn State in particular)
I know the new scoreboard is bigger, looks clear etc but does anyone else have a problem reading the down/distance/score/yardline etc which is in the ribbon bar under the scoreboard? I hate to say it but the old one was easier to follow, obviously the video on the new one is way better. There also used to be a down/distance/yardline snapshot on the big ribbon bar near the closed endzone on both sides, this isn't shown anymore.
Many of the plays were being snapped before the scoreboard was showing them (probably a result of snapping the ball with 25 on the clock)
There was a couple series where the scoreboard was just wrong. There was one series in particular where they had 1st and 26, an incomplete (I think) pass, 2nd and 17 (another incomplete pass) then 3rd and 27.
Sorry for sounding like a pessimist after an awesome event.

the only problem i have with the scoreboard is when a play is under review. I hate seeing Brutus as sherlock holmes. pisses me the hell off. Show the play and let us have a little fun by trying to persuade the ref's decision.
for example. Taylor Martinez's last TD run, was not a TD from my view point and I would have loved to see it again. no one sitting around me could beleive that call was upheld.
Legitimate observations, especially not being able to read parts of it.
The rap cartoon video is a little corny too.
From every seat I've sat in this year (both C deck, at different places), me and everyone in our party had a hard time with downs. From our depth perception it was hard to see the details of the play, and the scoreboard didnt help either. Often times there were people who got our time out (3) confused with the down (1).
The scoreboard leaves a lot to be desired. They definetely need to play replays faster and more frequently. Especially when the play is under review. Showing Sherlock Brutus or the team flags waving is insulting. 10TV's score bored updates need to be a little more timely. They typically will "update" us after the board has given us the correct scores. 10TV is about a quarter behind. My seats are in 24C and I'm having a hard time reading the stats as well. My vision is corrected, with glasses, to 20/15 and I find myself squinting to read the total yardage and the like.
I've been to 2 games this year. Once in 24A and in 20B. It was hard to make out the down/quarter/timeout/yards to go at quick glance. I believe the video board is nice and big and bright but the statistics part leaves a little to be desired.
On a side bar, the back side of the scoreboard has an Ohio State logo and the words Ohio Stadium illuminated at night. This looks sweet at night when traveling up 315 North.
People are saying that I'm an alcoholic, and that's not true, because I only drink when I work, and I'm a workaholic.

I definitely agree on making out the down/distance and such. It seems like the number is on the wrong side of the word for me at least.
I think the confusion is a result of having the TOL (Time Outs Left) to the left or right of the Down and To Go numbers. You can't just take a quick glance since you see so many numbers jumbled together.

Never really notice since I sit in South.

Aerobuckeye,
I looked for but could not find/gave up on finding the TOL. That says something.
@dancorona5, that Martinez TD looked sketchy at first, but they showed the replay like 40 times on TV and he was clearly in. The one advantage of having to watch the game from my couch, I guess....sigh.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
Does someone have a good pic of the new board in action?
