Love seeing the 10 flying around the field but you don't see players make such a gesture very often. Really hope #48 does something special on Saturday. Shazier, a great football player, an even better person.

We've started to see him flash a little more of the greatness that had us all gaga over the guy. I can't wait for the first time one of their tight ends gets what appears to be an opening only to be cut down by a player previously not seen. When Shazier is right, he can close on a ball carrier like Rev. Al Sharpton on a live microphone.

Unfortuneatly, Shazier has bricks for hands so a pick six isnt all that likely. But hey, McGloin is the king of the pick 6 so maybe some magic will happen. Would love to see a few forced fumbles though

I read this article earlier today and figured it would show up here. My town just suffered the tragic loss of a 14 y/o freshman football player to a car accident. Other schools around the state outpoured support, provided guidance counselers for the students, painted his number on their fields when we came to play, etc. I suppose this gesture on the part of Shazier reminded me of how decent people can be in troubling times, and it's especially inspiring coming from a D1 athlete who stands as a role model for many youngsters. Classy move.

There is no rule outlawing changing uniform numbers. In fact, you can change mid-game. Usually it's done for players wishing to come in as an eligible reciever, but it can also be done for less-noble reasons.
