Halfway through the season I think it's worth the question, what do you guys think? I think as the season progresses he's going to get better and better and end up with around 5-6 picks is what I'm guessing... he seems to be reading the ball and routes pretty well these last few weeks. So far he's T-3 with a few players with 11 passes defended (he missed one game) but still leads the big10 has 2 INT's, one in which he took back for a TD, recovered that block punt week 1 for a TD, blocked a punt, has a sack, recovered a fumble, 4th on the team in tackles w/ 34... I think those number merit some sort of consideration! The Cornerback U may be back.

I think it's interesting to note that 2 weeks ago we were talking about why he doesn't have any picks and this week we are talking AA status.
First Team Big 10....dont see all america yet
^^^Agreed, don't quite see AA just yet, but the potential is clearly there. I honestly don't want to see him get too much hype this year...wouldn't want to give him any reasons to leave early.
I also agree with what everyone else has said so far. Roby has the potential, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I would definitely say All Big 10 this year, with a very good chance of being a first team All-American next year.

It's all about next year for Roby. He has been very solid this year but no way AA status. 1st team All B1G is the ceiling for Roby this year and he may not even get that with the amount of yards the defense has been giving up. I think the kid is a stud and could be a future 1st-2nd round pick but he has some work to do and needs help from everyone else on the defense.
Typically you set yourself up for an All-American first team with your play the year before. I think Roby will be primed for much hype next season and a shot at the first team.
He has to double his first half production to be considered an all american in my books
Lets jump to conclusions on just about everything..national championships, All-Americans, 1st rounds picks. Can't you people waitfor anything to take place!?!?

If we waited till everything plays out there would be no need for this message board/website. Might as well wait on talking about any recruits until they sign the dotted line!
And I wasn't trying to say he was going to, just pose the question based on his stats so far.
He never gets thrown on and when he does he usually breaks it up as evident by his 11 pbu's, trailing the national leader by 2 despite missing a game, and given we're half way through the season and you double robys #s, and then add the last game since he's sitting at 5 gms played now.. he'll be around 70-75 tackles, 4+ INTs, 2 Sacks, 4 TDS ha, I know that won't happen but he could get another one, never know. And 25+ pass defends which he could very well end up leading the nation in.

Roby isn't AA status yet but I can see him being a preseason AA next year. Last Saturday was a huge stage to perform on and he came on big time! If he does the same for The Game, then I will more inclined to agree with you.

I dont know about All-American yet. Lets face it he just had his first pick less than a week ago, but it is fun to talk about and we be something to follow in the second half of the season.

I agree the speculation gets a bit overplayed sometimes, but it's fun for some of us and I guess people get upset when you pee in their cornflakes (or whatever the saying is...)

I think Roby definitely deserves consideration and I'm not sure there are many other CBs you could show me playing in college football today that I would take over Roby. He should at least be 2nd or 3rd team AA.
