Who does everyone think should be returning the kicks and punts? A lot of players have gotten some returns, but as of right now it looks like Devin Smith is our #1 guy. I just don't think that he is our best option right now. I thought Armani Reeves had a ton of potential early in the season and I think Roby would be a stud. Any thoughts?

I thought Reeves and Roby too..one things for sure im not sure what Dunn has been doing back there..lead blocking????

I'd love for Roby to be back there. The only negative I can think of with that, though, is that he's already getting enough (perhaps too much) work on pass defense anyhow--based on conditioning, I mean. The guy has to be exhausted by the end of most games, returning kicks/punts would just be one more energy-spender for him. I'm just speaking as an every-man though, these guys may have the sort of conditioning that a little extra work wouldn't affect them at all, who knows? I wouldn't like to see him get hurt on a hit during a punt or kickoff return, though.

I like the idea of Reeves, since he doesn't get a lot of action otherwise. I also like Hall back there when he's healthy--but the injury factor is even more of a fear with him than with Roby, since he's been prone to it lately.

While were on the subject of special teams..why is hyde covering punts? that personal foul he committed on the punt last week wouldnt have happened if it was someone who, you know, practices tackling people on a daily basis.

Yea i just thought theres someone that doesnt play running back who would be better suited at covering punts,however i am not Urban Meyer(in case anyone was wondering).

^I think we should have a tank unit for selective returns. Just fill the unit out with OL and DL players, including Big Hank as the return man as mentioned. Would CF ever be more entertaining than that?

Was I hallucinating or did I see Rod Smith in there for a return? I wasn't completely focused on the screen, but I swear I looked up and saw #2 returning a kick...

^Yep, he was in after Devin Smith's first return (and taking of the hard tackle at the 15ish).

It looks like Urban is still tinkering with who he wants to return... Looks like Devin Smith got pulled tonight because he was doing both, then replaced by Brown on punt returns and Rod Smith on KR... He did look awfully tentative tonight, plus dropped a couple passes, maybe Urban's 'accountability'?
