Just came across this tweet from Jerry Emig, SID for Ohio State Football:
@BuckeyeNotes ...About 15 minutes away from a rather large Ohio State football scheduling announcement. A series. A home and home series
Will update as soon as the announcement is made.
UPDATE: It's the Texas Longhorns! Ohio State will travel to Austin in 2022 and will play in Columbus in 2023.
Personal Note: I'm excited for this. Granted, it's 10 years down the road, but these two schools are very similar and it was a great matchup the last time around. Also, I know a lot of friends currently attending UT and almost ended up going there. This should be a lot of fun!

It's Texas, 2022 (austin) and (2023) cbus.
It's Texas. A good match-up, but not what I was hoping for...
I was hoping for an SEC opponent.
Eh, two biggest baddest athletic departments going head to head. exposure in texas for recruits. i like it alot. only school i'd take over them right now would be Bama for a home and home, and that's not likely to happen.
Scheduling 10 years out is wild stuff. I mean Mack Brown probably won't be coaching Texas, and none of know how long Urban will be in Columbus.
Being born and raised in Texas, I'm really happythat this will *hopefully* happen. UT was my school of choice before I switched to attend The Ohio State University. I love both schools, but coming to Ohio State was the best decision I have ever made.
It's true... We really are a bunch of nuts!
Go Bucks!
Very cool. Hope Urban makes it that far. For giggles, most of the kids that will be playing in that game are like 10 or 11 years old right now. weird right?
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Haha!!
oh wait this wasn't a mock thread? lol
Who will he coaching these games..Colt McCoy and Tom Herman?
Run_Fido's favorite word is strawman.
I hope Ohio State stomps the crap out of the T-sips! Alot of their fans are almost worse than the Michigan fans!
I helped coach our high school baseball team in 02 with my brother in law and we went to the state tournament that year but lost to Celina in the final four but the Texas field was pretty nice.
Woo hoo! Afterparty at my house in 2022! Man, it's weird to write '2022.'
Would love to see Texas and USC as regulars in a rotation.

So its Cal in 2013, Va Tech in 2014/2015, Oklahoma in 2016/2017, TCU in 2018/2019, and now Texas in 2022/2023 as the big headliners in non-conference right?
Our honor defend we will fight to the end for Ohio..
^ I believe that's correct but with moving to the playoff format we will probably be getting more high caliber non conference opponents.
let's get that OSU/UGA series back & we're set!
