FSU commit Levonte Whitfield will visit Ohio State.

Whitifield maybe better James Quick, Robert Foster, and Shelton Gibson. Would be a huge coup if he flips to the Buckeyes. Runs a sub 4.4 40.

Whitfield? Wow, we just keep getting more and more ice cream with our cake. Have to sit back and wonder just who we will end up with in this class. It will be special.
Yeah, Whitfield was one of the two fastest guys at The Opening before the SPARQ National Championship began. Guess who was third? Ezekiel Elliott.
Not to be a negative nelly, but I don't see Levonte Whitfield flipping from FSU at all based on his constant twitter love for the team for the last year or two (whereas the only time I've even seen him mention OSU was when he said he thought Tony Stevens would be going there if not FSU). My guess is he's more just a companion for Stevens on his visit (both are good friends, both are from Florida, both have been committed to Florida State). In fact, Whitfield has been pushing more than anyone for Stevens to recommit to FSU.
I personally don't see Whitfield as better than either Foster or Quick. Faster? Yes. Overall better WR? Not in my opinion. Whitfield is your speedy track-type (which does work well in Urban's offense), Foster is a prototypical WR (above-average speed, great strength, great size, very good ability to go up and get the ball and break tackles).
Does anyone see a situation where we could have to turn some elite WR's away? I don't think we can sign 5 more and there seems to be a lot of interest coming from these 2013 guys lately. If Urban would've had longer to build relationships with them I believe a few would already be OSU commits. You never know what can happen once they step on campus.
The seven on seven I watched this summer, Whitfield impressed as much as anyone. He made every catch and when in front of someone, he wasn't caught from behind. I just remember being really impressed by him. Give him some Urban time. You never know. Crazy things always happen.
My best guess on WR recruiting breakdown is Gibson, Quick or Foster or Stevens, Elder or Timmons or Whitfield or Smith (JUCO)...
I think they are looking at 3 more slots with Gibson being the only sure thing, which really, even he isn't because of the supposed academic issues.
That being said, I will guess that we end up with Gibson, Quick (tempted to go with Foster but somehow feel he will be sold on Bama because of the Amari Cooper's success and a pro-style offense), and Elder.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us "strike out" and only land 2 instead of 3. If 2, I'd say Gibson and Elder are the safest bets.
Despite WR, still saving at least 3 more schollies. I don't think OSU/Urban would turn down either OL Johnson or Dawson, LB Mitchell, or S Bell.
I think Class of '13 has room to squessze in maybe 6 more, so 23 total. All my convoluted theories though.

If Whitfield flips to the Buckeyes, I will run down High St. in the nude.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
The tape I've seen on Whitfield always ends with separation and a touchdown. Almost impossible to defend for very long.
Good clean fun, but sounds like just a "visit". If it creates a sense of urgency for any of the others, though, it's a good visit.
Just read that Anzalone decommitted from Notre Dame.
I know no one cares, but hey! At least I didn't create a new Anzalone thread :)
If we flipped Whitfield that would spell the end of the Elder/Timmons saga. I don't see us taking two of those three. Now I don't think we get Levonte, but damn would it be nice to have him and Stevens from FSU
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
anzalone didn't decommit per Michael Chung on twitter

Interesting. I can't embed tweets from my iPad but it was a tweet from Scout. Sure seems the writing is on the wall
yeah I saw that tweet too. I think its 50/50 ND/UF. he said he isn't remotely considering OSU anymore so it doesn't matter too much anyway
