Corey Clement decommits from Pitt
(espn insider)
On Thursday, ESPN 300 running back Corey Clement (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) said it was "50/50" whether he would stick with Pittsburgh. On Sunday, he made a decision.
Clement decommitted from Pitt while on an official visit to Wisconsin, he confirmed in a text message.
He will make a decision Friday between Nebraska, Notre Dame and Wisconsin during his pep rally before his game. Friday is also his birthday.
"Can't tell just yet," Clement wrote when asked if he would flip to Wisconsin.

At first glance, Davonte James likes OSU
(espn insider)
Davonte James (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield) might be hard-pressed to top his first experience at The Horseshoe.
On hand with teammate Thaddeus Snodgrass, the ESPN Watch List junior watched the improbable become probable when Kenny Guiton took over for an injured Braxton Miller to lead Ohio State over Purdue in a 29-22 overtime thriller.
“I thought it was a great game,” James said. “I didn’t think they were doing that bad. I liked that they never gave up. It was great.”

Vonn Bell maintains top 3 after UT visit
(espn insider)
At 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the SEC, the Volunteers are not having the 2012 season that Tennessee's coaches, players or fans were hoping for. But in the world of recruiting, one strong class can make all the difference in turning a program around.
Derek Dooley is hoping to make ESPN 150 defensive back Vonn Bell (Rossville, Ga./Ridgeland) an integral building block for the future, and he spent time with the 6-foot, 190-pound senior during an unofficial visit to Knoxville on Saturday.
"I spoke to Coach [Derek] Dooley and the rest of the staff, and they just reiterated that they really need defensive backs," Bell said. "They made sure to let me know how important I am to the program and where they are trying to get to. The conversations were very normal."
tOSU, Bama and UT continue to be the top 3...mentioned key criteria of decision being: depth chart, relationship/communication with coaches and feeling of home.

WR Foster set to take official visit to Bama
(espn insider)
It’s still a week away, but the visitor list for Saturday’s Mississippi State game is off to an impressive start for Alabama as ESPN 150 wide receiver and Crimson Tide target Robert Foster announced via Twitter that he will be taking his official to UA next weekend.
“Goin to ALABAMA Saturday for my official visit letgo!,” Foster tweeted.
The Pennsylvania native also tweeted that he would take official visits to Ohio State and Pittsburgh following his trip to Tuscaloosa. He’s expected to make a decision at some point between those three.
Foster first visited Alabama in April for the Tide’s spring game. He returned over the summer with his high school team, which was playing in a 7-on-7 tournament in Hoover, Ala.

Not sure what to think about the soon to be offer for the QB Ulmer, especially if it comes before offering Barker, Henderson or Crest. Doesn't this Ulmer kid rank below all the other QBs we've been talking about? I don't get it. This better not be a slap in the face and upset Barker
@Weimerad: Hmm, I get the feeling that perhaps we're recruiting Ulmer as a "QB" by label alone. He runs a sub 4.4/40 and is listed on many sites as a QB/DB. His throwing arm isn't very strong, and agility reminds me a lot of Jalin Marshall. Just my personal hunch here.
Don't they indicate a position when they send an offer out? Typically they talk position at least. We'll see ifti comes out as a QB/ATH/Other?
I like recruiting QBs in to other positions. Whether converting them to a TE or WR they always seem to understand the game better just from having a past QB experience. Its also nice if you have a WR that was a former QB that you can pitch the ball back to on a reverse and have a throwing or running threat once they have the ball
The offer to Ulmer will not be committable IMO im guessing its an offer to come up so the staff can see him in person or perhaps a camp offer so they can evaluate if its for QB. If you look close enough theres really been one 2014 QB thats come up for games and thats Barker and he will have been at 3 this year. I do think the staffs top choices are 1a. Watson and 1b. Barker but I dont see Watson decomitting from Clemson where hes prob gonna see the field earlier than here so that leaves us with Barker which is absolutely fine. When it comes to recruiting I always go by the watch what they do not what they say approach and what Barker has done is show up to 30% of our home games this year which will be triple than any other 2014 QB.
@SpoonerBuck33
Just a question, why do you say Watson is 1a?
@Steensn Its really no order there thats just how I worded it but from the reading Ive done I believe thats the top of the board in any order really. My bad if that caused any confusion.
Even if you said he was 1b i would have asked the question. I was wondering what made you put him up that high because I haven't heard anything. If it is just a hunch that is fine... just picking your brain.
Don't get Ulmer offer at all,not with all the better QB's out their, maybe at different position.Like hearing Davonte is giving Buckeye Nation some love.Could definately use his skills on D.Hope we can bring Von aboard.Reminds me of a young Ronnie Lott.
SCOTTC.
A statement such as we might offer you soon doesn't mean the guy will ever get an offer.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Then why bother with we might offer you soon? Just sayin!! WAY too many better QB prospects then Ulmer, like I said, unless they're looking at him at another position, ie. CB,WR.
SCOTTC.
By saying we might offer you soon it peaks his interest so that the staff can more easily further evaluate him/get him on campus.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Very true!! Just feel like with scholarship reductions,we need to hit homeruns on virtually everyone we bring in,with youth and attrition.Realistically,I know we probably won't, but one can always hope.lol

even with greatest care given to get the best QB you can get, in the recruiting world, and OSU has had many great QB's the past 12 years....great ones...... what is the percentage of makers and floppers?
Since 2002:
Troy Smith
Justin Zwick
Todd Boeckman
Joe Bauserman
Rob Schoenhoft
Antonio Henton
Terrelle Pryor
Orhian Johnson
Keneth Guiton
Taylor Graham
Caradle Jones
Braxton Miller
I count 6 out of 12 (giving Guiton and Jones the benefit of not finishing career yet, hence potential) that you could call non flops. Also Orhian going to defense, though recruited as QB. So just because OSU offers you a scholarship, doesn't mean you will succeed. 50% evaluation success rate for one of the top 10 best football programs of time says it all.
Even if you want to hit homeruns with every recruit, you won't.
You guys honestly think were not gonna get the best qb possible? I wouldn't look to far into this, just a statement until proven otherwise.
Ulmers not getting an offer before barker just talk. I really like williams game for the hoop team he gets buckets
O'Deez330
stark county football
Joe Bauserman was not a flop. Lots of happy kids in the stands went home with official footballs when he was behind center....
Mostly nebraska fans @kbonay...wonder if the baus signed those footballs he was spraying all over the place?
Is this for real? OSU, ND, MSU right?
Can't imagine it's anyone but OSU. Didn't think he would be our #1 commit for 2014 though, I wonder how good of a recruiter he'll be for our other targets. I know he talks a lot with Barker, so that'll be interesting.
If that's really his acct above, then I'd say it's OSU's first commit for 2014. He was just at OSU for Purdue...something tells me it will happen if he's serious about that tweet.
"There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you."
"I love football. I think it is most wonderful game in world and I despise to lose."
Woody Hayes 1913 - 1987
Also talks a bunch with McMillian!
Hope it's OSU!! Something to look forward to!!Hate we gotta wait another week to find out!!
SCOTTC.
I know I'm probably reading way too much into this, but OT Demetrious Knox just asked him on twitter if he was committing to Ohio State. He also said: "ok. If it is Ohio state let me know.... I guess I have to start thinking about when I'm going to commit".
I was seeing the same thing.... Hope this actually means something.
awesome news on snodgrass also Buckeyes125 is that you i see on twitter pumping these recruits up about tOSU? if so then thats awesome keep up the good work and in other news Johnny Townsend our P recruit has been invited to the Army AA game
I don't know what you mean by pumping them up, but that is me. I am the class of 2014 also and can't wait for the first commit of 2014!!
@spoonerbuck
Good call pointing out Johnny T to the Army AA game!
