Luke Fickell is not worth the 7.50hr the ex-pizza boy was paid before making his honest observation that the our defense is ...hapless. This was the softest touch on the BIG schedule. Hey Luke, I'll have a medium with peperoni!

We all know that the defense needs work. But quit jumping to these ludicras statements about the coaches. They know more about the game of football then you ever will in your life.

Sorry. I mis- typed 42 points instead of the 52 we needed to scrape by INDIANA. It is tough to hold my temper when I see players out of position, poor teqnique, soft tackling, and abysmal defensive play calling. Why are Grant, Marcus, Perkins, Roberts not more conversant in the schemes than Boren? Who is responsible for calling the signals, designing the schemes, and coaching up the linebackers? It doesn't take Vince Lombardi to figure out the answers. And of course I don't want to be West Va. or anybody else. What the hell does that mean anyway. Our defense is barely sufficient to outscore poor teams even with our relatively high octane offense. It is precisely that I do not want the Bucks to be like West Va. that I am writing this. We can afford the best. We pay as well as anyone. We deserve better than what Fickell is capable of delivering. IT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM!

We are undefeated and I'm happy about that, but we are going to be an early season favorite next year and that defense will get exposed real quick. Something has got to change. I know the staff has more talent coming in, but at some point the scheme and coaching comes into play.
I don't know, I feel like Big Luke could make a mean pizza...maybe deep dish...mmmmm.

Nothing wrong with the coaching.... I think some of the fans need a coach to teach them how to celebrate after their team wins.

I celebrate at the end of the season, after all my flaws have been addressed and my skills are honed. My happiness comes when the last of my enemies have been crushed and driven before me and I hear the lamentations of their women! ;)

I'll take a crappy win over a loss. This defense needs some work, no doubt. I doubt they'll ever play this badly again.

Alabama, Oregon, South Carolina, Florida...would bend Lukes defense over a table and Sandusky us.
I wish I could remember where I saw it but there was a friend of the Fickel family that commented on the guy getting fired. It turned out he said a little bit more than what the news reported. The Fickel's did NOT call and complain on him. Instead the guy was bragging about what he said and it got back to the manager. He called Luke's wife and she told him what was said. She said she did NOT want the gentleman fired but the manager didn't appreciate what was said so he was fired.
That may or may not be the case but thats what I read.
For all I know the Pizza Boy incident may be totally bogus. But that does not excuse Fickells absolute inadequacy as a linebasker position coach and defensive coordinator. Was Gene Smith the genious that made him head coach? Gawd! Next year we should contend..but not with Fickell. We cannot afford him and compete with the very best.
I don't care how fast our offense scores points, we should not be giving up 48 to IU. That's embarassing.

Also worth noting.....Mr Fickell is one of the highest paid assistants in the nation at 750k. That show the defense put on last night was the WORST I have ever seen from a OSU team. It was INDIANA!! What's a good team going to do to our lame defense?
