I work for the sports student radio station and I'm on the broadcast team this year for football. Sunday night, I got an e-mail from our president saying that we had received several e-mails about our broadcast on Saturday from active military currently serving in Afghanistan. I have a couple of the messages below. Reading those e-mails was very cool, but it was very humbling that those serving our country were listening to us and also made their day a little bit better. Thank you to all those serving our country! Hope this makes everyone's day a little better.
You guys are life savers, streaming loud and and clear in Kandahar Afghanistan. Thanks gents! Great start to the day!

You guys are awesome. I am so glad I found the broadcast. Students or not way better than any others I've heard.

Scarlet and Gray Radio,
Greetings from Kabul, Afghanistan. I am here on a 6-month tour away from
my home base of Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio. After trying to
find the Paul Keels broadcast on several station websites on line in
vain, I found your website and have been listening to your broadcast of
the Nebraska game. I will tune in to you guys as often as I can until I
come home towards the end of November. Keep up the great work.
All the Best,
Master Sgt. Bob Barko Jr.

Being a vet myself, I assure you, any news from home that you can easily access (especially Saturday Buckeye football) makes you feel like you aren't so far from home, even if it's just for those couple of hours. Nice work guys!
Not sure how long those guys have been in Afghanistan but it feels wierd to watch/listen to a game at odd hours. With that said, when I spent a few weeks out of the country, it was so nice being able to get online and still be able to look at this website or catch games online. Couldn't imagine how it feels being over there and geting a few hours of normalcy in their lives!
Hence just another part of why I love sports. Godspeed to our men and women over there! Hope to see them all soon back home!
When I was in Iraq in '05, we would get up in the middle of the night to catch the games. It made for a long work day though. Twice we were attacked during games and we missed the end (Texas and PSU). The inconsiderate bastards couldn't wait 10 more minutes to shoot the rockets?
