Noticed an osu fan contacting osu recruits a while ago. No big deal, not my cup of tea but ok. Then the whole anzalone - sexual predator news comes out and everyone myself included gets spooked out. We all looked a bit naive to the possobility predators could infiltrate our fun college football ring. Lesson learned. Now i see an unnamed individual who commonly posts on 16/17 year old recruits twitter accounts to persuade them to join osu. I follow thru to that persons account and what do i see? A huge ad for a website that sells authentic ohio state championship rings and memorabilia. Meaning they were sold by players or staff. Just doesnt pass the sniff test at all. Does anyone else get similar vibes??

Edit: I just looked at that account! There is a huge difference from that twitter and what happened with the Anzalone situation. That guy was tweeting pics of him with the recruits and other underage male athletes. This guy just tweets about news and things he hears. I didn't see one tweet directed at a recruit nor a picture of this person with underage kids. I think you need to get a better understanding between what a true pedophile does and what is against the law compared to what this guy is doing. The website, is a rings website for all sorts of rings, not just OSU stuff. Again, a bit of a reach dude!
wasn't clear, i'm not saying he's a pedophile. i'm speaking generally, that as a community, we should be looking for the nail that's sticking out of the ground. as TSA says, "if you see something say something". it's probably moreso related to the tressel / pryor scandal, i.e. - cash for memorabilia.

All of those Buckeye items are A-OK to buy or sell. The wrath of the NCAA has already been handed down for the time period of those items. So if something on there catch's your eye you now know its ok to buy it. Although some of the Bama stuff coud be questionable being from 2011.

HC, I have not made any assumptions. I actually used the words you typed in your original post and in your follow ups. You used the words naive, homer, sex offender, creeped, 16/17 yr olds. Based on those words, one doesn't have to leap very far to know where you are going with it.

Edit: It is obvious those are knock offs. Probably real rings but not from actually players selling them. The buckeyes players sold their stuff to a guy who is currently in jail doing time and most of the stuff was most likely confiscated! I'm still trying to understand completely where you were going. Are you concerned with contacting recruits and violating recruiting rules or are you concerned with someone out there trying to meet future players so they can buy their rings and stuff to sell causing a player violation?
and I like most of anyone on here are concerned about these things! but we can't take a "cry wolf" approach to a situation everytime a recruit gets harrassed. It will drive us crazy!
