did you ever read anything that said OSU was getting them this year, or if nike is even doing it?
It's a sure thing they are doing it, Urban even mentioned it in a presser a couple weeks back. They were supposed to be revealed sometime in September but that obviously didn't hapen.
Urban confirmed it in a press conference this year. One would expect that they would be used for the TSUN game. There were rumblings that they would be 2002 NCG throwbacks, since it's the ten year anniversary/reunion for that game. Everything else has been under wraps. Look for an announcement at the end of October or beginning of November, so Nike has time to sell them.
Ohio State was one of the school's that signed a four year commitment with Nike to wear the pro combats. This is year 4.

Yep, Buck 1.8 was being sarcastic! No reason to down vote even if he wasn't. It was funny though, who cares about Adidas in football.
I think they need to reneg with Nike and get that All Blacks uni busted out next year! I really want to see a flat black helmet with a scarlet red O and red buckeyes. I love the silver helmets with the stripe and regular buckeyes but it is time to become the evil black knights of football next year and get villianous! I want opponents to get intimidated before they even get lined up!
I really want to see something with the standard Buckeye helmet, but chrome. Or a chrome scarlet helmet with a gray block O. Like the purple TCU chrome helmets from last week. The idea of doing BFBS is nice, but I feel like every team does it.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
I know I'm in the minority here but I actually didn't mind the alternate Wisco and Nebraska unis. I did, however, upvote Buck-I.8. The Michigan alternate unis for Alabama were dreadful this year, I thought. They seemed very 1998 or something.
I feel like the time is coming for nike to release all of them...did anybody see boise states new pro combats for this year? its on yahoo and the helmet is one of the coolest ive ever seen

Those Boise helmets are sweet.
Seeing us come out in black unis would be pretty sweet - gotta stick with the classic helmet though with the Buckeye stickers. Chrome would look good.

I was about to post the same thing. That BSU helmet is AWESOME.
I'm actually not one who likes the idea of a black uniform myself, and I don't get why teams who have zero black in their uniform come out with black ones, BUT that BSU helmet is awesome. I really would love to see a chrome helmet, just minus the diamond plating.
Forgive me for being obtuse, but why do I not see any of this voting all the kids here are talking about?

I'd like to see a flat black helmet with an old-school Block O like on Woody's hat. I'm a huge fan of the matte helmets.
Enzo - You have to acheive some sort of minimum number of posts/votes etc to be allowed to vote which also shows you current votes. That's the way I understand it. One day it just appeared for me, I'm sure the thresholds are posted somehwere.

@Bolt Only problem with Wisky/Brasky unis (and scUM's last year) were that THEY WERE EXACTLY THE SAME. That's my main problem with Adidas, no originality. Except when they give us those ND unis from a few weeks ago against ThugU. Eye cancer.

And the black Boise helmets are sweet. I loved Ohio's matte green helmets against State Penn as well.

A black matte helmet with a large silver chrome block O on each side of the helmet would be pretty debo as well.
I'd love to see a black scheme, similar to VT's pro combis, with a matte black helmet.
I might also be in the minority, but I'd love to see Oregon silver reflective attire on our entire helmet.

This is beginning to sound like OSU has purposely kept a lid on the design with the hopes of just showing up at the game with the uni's on. That actually would be kind of cool, but I seriously wonder if that could actually be pulled off? In this day of leaked info on everything it's amazing that we have not seen a prototype yet.

i read alot and heard alot from alot of sources and people. They all say michigan . We beat wisconsin last year we tipically wear them against teams that upset us the year before i know thats not always the case but most time here in recent years it is. I think we will wear them against michigan not wisconsin. I beleive we will wear them angainst our hated neighbors scUm. i guess we'll know when we know lol id love to see a black helmet with a red O as well that would be sick.

We've only worn the alternate uniforms against Michigan and Wisconsin though. The times we wore them against Michigan we beat them the previous year. As for Wisconsin, we wore them for that game because it was a big high profile nationally televised game between what was supposed to be two ranked teams in the 'Shoe at night.
The alternate unis are 3-0. Let's wear them for Wisky. I want the regular uniforms for AACC. It looks better that way. The helmets need to be littered with buckeye stickers for The Game and not generic looking. As long as we keep winning they could wear lavender and teal for all I care.
That has been the case here one out of three years we've worn Pro Combot uniforms, haha.

I really like the pro-combats at home for the recruiting aspect, yet I really want to see Ohio State and dUMb play with their normal uniforms on.
No way that they wear them for any other game, so whichever option Urban is fine with is good enough for me.

Yea i know knew writing that someone would correct me thanks fellow buckeye . But my personal oppinon i think we should wear them against michigan bc they beat us last year it just makes the hate and rivalry that much more when we wear pro combats in that game and its in the shoe. my oppinon. i wouldn mind if it was wisky but na we should handle them with no prob. that would be a waste of a one time jersey. Last year they were very good and they beat us the year before. thats a reason to wear them. not this year.. Urban will decide.

I don't think it's really up to us (Ohio State) to choose when we'll wear the alternate kit if it comes down to Wisky and TSUN. Nike has either already finished their design or are currently working on their design for which they have a concept for already. Meaning Nike already has it determined as to whether it's going to be a home or away game that we'll see the alternates for.
Lavender we can't do lavender! Then we need to write an apology letter to some people....Anyways I think we wear them for the Wisconsin game too because that means in the four year span we would wear them twice at home and twice on the road.
And on a side note wouldn't it be cool if during The Game both schools wore their home jerseys no matter where it was played. They are two of the most iconic jerseys in college. Scarlet and blue every year.
Alternate Unis have no impact on recruiting whatsoever. I read that in every thread about pro combat unis. When has a recruit ever said, I'm deciding to go to Ohio State because the last game of the season they had a white helmet and dark gray pants?????
I feel like Wisconsin isnt as bad as everyone seems to think. The lost to Oregon State by three and Nebraska by three. They are eight points away from being undefeated. Wisconsin will be a big game for us and I would much rather wear pro combat unis against Wisconsin than Michigan.

I get the feeling that we'll be wearing a chrome helmet, with buckeye leaves in the crome like Oregon has with the wings. Maybe a two tone facemask with the helmet stripes or something. I'm okay with the Chrome helmet, just no black jerseys. It's so overplayed. Everyone does it.... and IMO it's getting tacky. Stick with Scarlet Tops I say.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
the only thing I have against the "special" uniforms, is that the players don't their Buckeye Leaf Stickers on the helmets. Our helmet stickers maybe my favorite part of our uniform.
I also think the new BSU unis look awesome! I know there are a lot of reasons to resist change and go with the status quo as far as unis, but man, wouldn't it be sweet to see the Bucks come out in black for a night game at the 'Shoe?!
@btalbert25: I would argue that alternate uniforms could help sway a recruit to OSU in some cases. Remember - we're talking about 17-18 year old kids...those things are important to them.

Speaking of the buckeyes on the helmet did anyone see braxton had completely filled up his one side and was working on the other last game? He's gonna have to wrap them around his facemask soon
