Or he could do like Vonn Bell and come in December. Official visits don't have to be for games. Get him here with his brother for the Kansas basketball game.
Remember the guy lives in Texas and his HS team is still playing, so it's not like he can just up and leave at any point. I know the game atmosphere is important, but I'd rather he get as much time as possible to spend in Columbus, interact with the staff, and get his parents to see the facilities. The offseason is the best opportunity for that. Besides, he can always talk to other guys who have been up here for a game.
Remember it didn't matter much last year with Cam Williams, Reeves, Schutt, or Spence. None of those guys had game day visits and Urban was still able to seal the deal.
I would actually prefer if he waits and comes with his brother. If Urban and Thad could tag team them recruiting style, I think it will be in the bag! I couldn't imagine both guys not wanting to play for a NC contender, and not many schools around can boast that for both football and basketball!
@Squirrel, that would be pretty friggin sweet. Could you imagine you and your brother arriving at campus and seeing Urban Meyer and Thad Matta walking down the hall to greet you!?!?!?!?!?!
I actually imagine this funny scene ala Loyd Christmas/Mary Swanson with Mike and Mickey walking through the oval into the main library and Urban Meyer and Thad Matta bust open the doors and disturb a bunch of doves....aaaaand that's pretty much where the similarities end haha.

As long as we get him on campus at some point I think Meyer can seal the deal. Getting him and his brother to a bball game would definitely be a bonus and I think could really seal the deal.
I think Mom and Dad win this battle and he ends up at OU or UT... It is going to be a major headache for them to keep up with Mike and Mickey being in states so far away. I understand OSU has a shot to land Mickey, but that's two years of being all over the place trying to keep up with their kids sports careers. I don't have a good feeling about this. I could possibly be wrong, but still don't feel good about it. Hoping we can flip Trey Johnson or Courtney Love.
His dad already stated that he wants Mike to go where he wants to and he'll support him no matter what.
I really don't know why people are getting worried about this. I think Mike has known for a while that he wants to be a Buckeye and would've commited at The Opening but wants to visit OSU just to make sure. It's not easy for someone from Texas to come visit during a football season. Once he visits Meyer will close him and he'll commit within the next week.
uhhh...mike's dad was quoted as saying "you can't go wrong with any of these schools" referring to the likes of oregon, ohio state, as well as the local schools. pretty sure mom and dad are in the "we want what's best for our son" corner
I'm not sold Mike's coming to OSU...it just doesn't seem like a "lock" as he did (not sure if he ever was a lock). I could see him choosing a school closer to TX. I'll become a believer again if an actual visit is set and he actually visits.

Kept hearing he was coming to The Game. If that's changed due to his season being extended - I guess we'll all just have to wait & see. I'm sure we would all love it if this process had not slowed the way it has but that's life...If he does make it to The Game - Buckeye on the spot I'd imagine. That game will have a very special atmosphere this year.

His high school team will have a game that weekend on either Friday or Saturday (23rd-24th) if they are still in the playoffs, making it pretty tough to get to Columbus for THE GAME.
no need to panic he will make it up I guess we can hope his team loses early in the playoffs....
I agree, something just does not add up here.
I recall Mike said he should visit sometime in November. There's still time. Don't freak out.

It's gotta be the M!chigan game, or bust.

Kansas bball game would be perfect! IMO, Mickey is a bigger deal that Mike. Obviously would love to have them both!
does anyone got his #? i'll call him and ask him to come.
lol @ OHH
@Ohhiyo Im pretty sure Urban has already taken care of that for you.

It's happening after HIS season...so just depends when their run ends

Mitchell doesn't have an offer from Texas. I think you mean A&M.

If Mitchell visits, I like Urban's chances of closing the deal with him. Sorry for the off-topic, but F--k Anzalone!

Here we go again...

Coming after the season according to Alex.
Why wouldn't he come for The Game? Doesn't make much sense.
