I wouldn't be shocked if it started drifting closer to 90,000 after the Buckeyes went up 28-10. Completely fairweather fanbase. Couldn't fill the stadium for an 0-2 start, and then they decide to show up again once the team shows it's still capable of beating up on the conference's patsies. Then they give up on "their" team once they start engaging in another time-honored Penn State tradition: getting put in their place by the Ohio State Buckeyes.

After being told to go "F*ck myself" by some 60 year old PSU fan last year, I'm convinced that PSU, as a school, produces more douchebags per capita than any other university in the world. They'll be irrelevant soon, so honestly, who cares what garbage they say? All that needs to be said is "Look at the scoreboard."
The above is an example of why I can't get onboard with Jason when he writes he's happy to see PSU fans enjoy their football program's fleeting resurgence. Too many of them (and apparently everyone at BSD since Chris Grovich left) think the NCAA enviously punished them for the "crime" of being too clean and awesome.

the penn state university and community continue to view themselves as victims because they've lost the right to play only one silly football game in january. let me emphasize further: they still have a football program that is permitted to play 12 games a year and generate massive revenues...
"VICTIMIZED": if penn state's punishment is the new meaning of this word, i wish that the empty souls left in the wake of jerry sandusky's sadism- a group of young men still persecuted by the university community for "attacking" the image of a manipulative icon- could only have been "victimized" in the trivial and naive sense of the word with which it is now so insensitively used.
dear penn state: as you continue to wallow in your self-pity, completely oblivious to the human debris that you've left behind, please forgive me if i continue to be ashamed that we allow the detritus that is your university to remain in our conference with such a venerated history.

I spent a little time on BWI on Rivals, . . . oy. . . . I have never seen a more deluded fan base than Penn State. Completely incapable of giving credit to the fact that they got beat. I never heard more excuses in my life.

Tell that to the " 'Proud Penn Staters' that failed to show up at their other four home games. Pride my ass. I don't remember Ohio Stadium not selling out during our abysmal 6-7 campaign last year. I cried when we lost to Penn State last year...not because we lost, but because I'd never sit in those hallowed stands again as a student.
It's honestly disappointing to read that. I went to BSD last night, and the overall sentiment was pretty level-headed.

Denial is a powerful thing when it comes to PSU. Really thought they would have figured it out by now.
Penn State is already irrelevant. They have 3 losses and last night showed they have benefitted not only by playing in a horrible B1G this year, but playing the bottom of the conference so far. Once they played a team with some talent, they got manhandled.
I've heard some crazy conspiracy theories concerning the NCAA and sports in general, but I have to say this one is special. So it's his opinion that the NCAA hated Penn State for being too clean. The NCAA just had to bring them down somehow. So Emmert cooked up a plan. He said we need to wait until all the news comes out about Sandusky raping boys and how the school and Joe Pa enabled him for 14 years(but probably much longer as a man doesn't wake up in his 50's one day and just decide hey I'm going to vicitimize kids and ruin lives). That Emmert is a sneaky bastard that's for sure.
I love how these hypocrites always go back to how they have a history of "doing things the right way". What they don't understand, and what they still don't get, is that if they always did things the right way then Sandusky would not have been allowed to prey upon young boys for so many years. If they claim football is just a stupid game, then what was it that kept them from turning Sandusy in? Why the cover-up? Why let a pedophile roam free for so many years? Sure does seem like they were trying to protect the school, protect the program, and protect themselves.
But then again, I must be wrong, you know, cause Penn State ALWAYS did things the right way.
I seriously can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading, especially on Blue and White Illustrated's forums. They're in full conspiracy mode, ripping our fans, proclaiming how they never wanted Urban Meyer, and even wanting out of the B1G for the ACC.
Hopefully this isn't truly represantative of their fan base, because I can't believe people can honestly be this delusional and irrational, especially in the wake of a child-rape cover-up scandal.
