Kurt Coleman shoe toss

Was watching the Steelers-Eagles game yesterday and saw this play.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2012/10/07/eagles-coleman-shoe-toss...

What do you guys think, smart play (Brown had to leave for a play,) or bad sportsmanship?  With my buckeye colored glasses on it looks like a smart play to me.

It honestly seems kind of bush league to me.  He doesn't have to hand it to him, but he doesn't have to chuck it 20 yards either.  Drop the shoe on the ground and focus on what you have to do to stop the offense on the next play.

It might've been kinda bush-league, but as a Browns fan and with the shoe belonging to a Steeler, throwing it didn't bother me.

Bush League. He is a Buckeye and all, but he plays like a punk and has been doing it for years.

I loved it.  Jenius.  The guy was a stud for the Bucks, and has been pretty damn good for the Eagles as well.  Give me 11 guys who play like that.

Coleman plays with a lot of passion and intensity..a lot of aggression as well. He's a great guy though, far from a punk.

Run_Fido's favorite word is strawman.

@YankeeScum Genius*  haha.  I think it was pretty bush-league, but I still love the guy.

Take off the Buckeye glasses, and just consider what he did. What would you think of someone who did that who wasn't a Buckeye? And that is the correct answer.

I have no problem with it. It's a smart play. He did nothing illegal and forced Pittsburgh's best WR off the field for a play on an important drive with less than a minute to go in the half. Besides, he threw it to Pittsburgh's bench where Brown could easily retrieve it. Now if he had thrown it to Philadelphia's bench, it might be a different story.

It's pure brilliance.  It's only bush league to you (player's perspective) if you didn't think of it first.  lol

Class of 2010.

It reminds me of the first round of the NBA playoffs when Dwyane Wade tossed Mike Bibby's shoes off the court last season. I thought that was bush league, so this is bush league as well. Love Coleman's energy and passion, but there's no need to do that to a fellow professional.

In basketball anyway, you're supposed to toss a guy's shoe off the court if he loses it. Play continues, so you get it off the court to avoid anyone tripping over it.

Kurt Coleman was featured on this week's "C'Mon Man!"

Yeah, the second one was definitely a punk move. If you can argue that, you need to have your head examined.

DLB, I can kind of see that he might have overestimated his jumping ability. But I agree it was a BS move and really is not called for.

The shoe incident was classic! I have no issue with it. Maybe he was throwing it off to the side of the field as a trophy kind of like when a player gets a milestone record and they want the game ball. Coleman probably collects shoes of his victims!

I'm totally cool with it. Antonio Brown celebrates like a little prick after each catch he makes, I would have thrown his shoe into the stands and that was a pretty easy way to shut him up. In most other situations, I would probably think this was weak but I am pretty biased against A. Brown and for K. Coleman so I approve.

Don't give up... Don't ever give up.

@scarlatina,

Totally agree w the Wade reference, I hated on Wade and for good reason, it is a ccomplete bush league move and Coleman is no exception. Unlike Wade though, Coleman survives in the NFL because he is a scrappy annoying player who toes the line between cheap and dirty and it fits his style so I maybe don't condone it but understand it.

EDIT: Watched c'mon man....Coleman = dirty and we don't teach that here

I'm ok with it. He threw the shoe to the Squealers sideline and not to his or the stands. Tie your shoes properly and this is a non issue.  Coleman is a competitor and I'm good with that.  Most of these NFL players are prima donnas. Play the game and quit preening around like your really special.  I don't do a dance after every crown prep, even tho mine are better than most:).

Lol omg guys he tossed his shoe to the sideline, big deal! I mean seriously this is professional football and the players are taught to get any kind of advantage they can. Its not like he ripped out his laces and tossed it into the stands lol. Geesh stop being so uptight. It was both brilliant and funny to me! Oh and Coleman is far from being a punk. Just because he plays with alot of heart and passion doesnt make him a punk. Its like you guys expect these players to be perfect gentlemen while out there on the gridiron! This is football!!
