How much honesty do we have around here?
I predicted we would be 5-1, loss to MSU, Braxton wouldn't be this good, the D would be better and the special teams would be about where they are.
Also thought the conference would be much better than it is. I thought Wiscy would be only 1 step behind last year, MSU would be really good and NB would be improved. I was wrong about all of it.
Your turn.

8-4/9-3. Based on how we closed out 2011 (in all phases of the game), and the addition of a new coaching staff and scheme, I thought we would only be marginally better (which wasn't a crazy prediction). I would have laughed at the homer who said that we would put up 63 against Nebraska.
In the summer my prediction was 5-1 to this point and 10-2 overall... I feel like we could end up 11-1 or 12-0 now.
I said 8-4 with the belief that if everything went well we could see a 10 win season out of this team. I thought we'd be sitting at 2 or 3 losses right now. Now, some of it is the team is playing much better right now than I expected and some of it is, the teams we played weren't as good as I expected too. I wasn't really all in until that last game. The MSU game was a hard fought victory to be sure, but that Nebraska game, once the offense started rolling, wow. They showed me something Saturday.
There are still problems to work out, especially on D, but ya know, if that offense keeps firing like it did for 3 quarters of the game Saturday, I'm not sure it'll matter that much.
My prediction was 12-0. I definitely thought the defense would be a heck of a lot better, but I can't complain too much with us being 6-0 and the fact that the offense is getting better as the weeks go by.

From the moment Urban was on board I've been predicting 10-2 with one loss against the group of "tough" games (MSU, Nebraska, Wiscy, michigan) and one upset loss against a team we shouldn't lose to (everybody else). I regard 10-2 still as a possibilty, though now it would be disappointing, and now see 12-0 as a possibility, though still somewhat unlikely.
Offense is playing better than I expected. Defense is playing worse.
Ahh Saturday,
Why do you think 12-0 is unlikely? I would say I need to revise my predictions upward to 12-0 at this point.
I had the Bucks slated at 8-4 to 9-3 with two loses at this point (MSU and NU). I am pleasantly surprised with the offensive production, I think Miller is much more improved from last year, and the team seems to be gaining confidence at exponetial levels following each win. I am not to shocked by the D, it wasn't great last year and if is a touched improved show far. I would love to see this team on offense not have the 1 quarter of play where they have virtually no offensive production, has happened each game so far. I can see this team being 10-2 to 12-0 now and that is exciting. I am concerned as to what happens if they lose a game and how they come back after said loss, hopefully I don't have to find out. 12-0 is now a serious possibility.
I thought 12-0 was possible because I thought the D was going to be outstanding! I went with 10-2 because I overestimated MSU and Wisky. I just thought MSU would be the best of the other (legends?) division and Wisky would do the same as last year and plug and play at QB. Ball is surprisingly average so far!
Now I think 12-0 is still possible but more because of the weakness of the conference and less about the dominance of the defense. The offense isn't a huge surprise to me but it is better than I expected. Knew Braxton was going to be a stud and Hyde would be great. Knew Hall would not be a huge factor. The receivers aside from Stoney are really surprising me. Probably the most surprising unit this year! Oline is very impressive.
I'll change my prediction to 11-1 because I think there is still a DERP out there waiting for OSU! Hopefully not UM!
I didn't think we'd lose more than two or three. I thought Sparty and the Husker's would be our toughest tests with Wisky being the other possible loss. After the game against Nebraska, I have my Homer gear on and am fully on board with a 12-0 season. (Please no hiccups against Purdue!)

I thought the Buckeyes would go 9-3 this year and would be 5-1 up to this point. I figured Braxton would be great but no way did I expect him to dominate and be in the Heisman race. I figured one of the WR's would break out and be doing much more than we have seen so far. I did expect Hyde to have a big year and if he stays healthy that should come true but I also thought Jordan Hall would be a huge contributor and injuries have prevented that. I thought Meyer would get more out of the defense but something is obviously still missing on that side of the ball because the amount of yards and points given up this year is probably more than I expected for the entire season!
As for the rest of the season I think tOSU will finish 11-1 but scUM will NOT be the loss.
I was in the 9-3 camp with losses to MSU and Wisky on the road and one more sprinkled in. I was confident we would beat Nebraska based on last year's performance and factoring in this game was at The Shoe. But you never know about the Boilers or The Game and Cal was an unknown for me.
I predicted the defense would be much more dominant than we have seen and I also believed Braxton would have progressed further as a passer than he has to date. I also thought Stoneburner would have a monster breakout year until I heard he had moved to WR.
A loss would be a very good measuring stick for this football team's mental toughness. The worst case scenario is 11-0 and a loss on 11/24. I am going to be SO jacked up for that Game.
I said 10-2 at worst and 12-0 at best (obviously).
I figured we had 4 games on our schedule that we were "beatable" in.
MSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, scUM.
So far we are on track to hit my range, and I do think 12-0 is a legitimate chance. Wisky's style of offense plays right into our hands and they won't be much of a challenge. scUM will be Meyer's first Game and I can't imagine dropping that one.
Trap game for us? Happy Valley
I had guessed 10-2 largely worried about road games like MSU and Wisky. We're past MSU now, and Wisky doesn't worry me quite as much as I expected. Still, I'd rather take this one game at a time and beat the hell out of scUM.
8-4 but I thought the 4 losses would be our 4 biggest games (MSU, NEB, WIS and Mich) so it would not of been a fun year losing those 4 games.
If I remember right I chose 10-2 in a 11w daily poll. I thought we'd stumble at Mich st and have one more hiccup along the way. I'm delighted I was wrong about the first (of course). Now, I'm really hoping I'm wrong about the second. Time will Tell.
The second has me a little concerned. We are not out of the woods yet. With trips to Wisky (tough place to win-see 2010), Purdue (God forsaken patch of earth where we always seem to forget how to play football-see 2009), State College (traditionally difficult place to play not to be sold short-see 2008), then finally hosting TTUN. This is no cake walk. This team will need be focused, intense and fully concentrated on the task at hand for every single play the rest of the season.
Given all that, 12-0 is a tall, tall, order. It's gonna be a hell of a ride to find out though.
*correction. i was having an acid flashback of purdue last year. scratch that one.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
@Buckeyeeddie
We actually host Purdue this year (thank God). I'd agree with your worries on that one if we did have to travel there based on recent performances.
Its not a cake walk, for sure, unless you listen to the media pundits; however, I'm gaining more confidence every week that it can and will be done!

I said (10-2)-(12-0), mainly because the Big Ten sucks so much.
I expected the D to be better (arm tackling and ball stripping? really?, but I digress). The offense had to be better, even with growing pains, simply because Bollman is gone.
I knew that MSU would struggle losing Cousins and his receivers, but I had no idea there were no receivers to step in, so I figured MSU as a win. Neb was the toss up and I 'm still not happy with how that played out.
38 points...
I expected a loss at Wisky and tsun is always a toss up. Throw in a fluke loss during conference play also.
Basically, we won the first game I expected to lose (Neb), the D has issues and the offense is doing better than I had hoped. With Wisky not being very good so far, you never know what can be...
@cc, I think 12-0 is unlikely because 12-0 is always unlikely. For a team, any team, to go undefeated everything must go right, and things seldom work out that way, as evidenced by the fact that OSU has gone undefeated once in the last 10 years and twice in, what, the last 40? Still, having said that, I still think an undefeated season is possible. Just pray for Braxton Miller's various joints and ligaments each night, and we might get there.
I said 12-0 and 11-1 at worst. I was basing mine solely off my love for the Bucks and the fact that 6 of our 7 losses last yr were by a TD or less... And all the players we had returning, all the younger players having another year in college... I knew we would be a lot better, then Meyer came to town and finally an Offense coming that suites Miller's style... from then on I had no doubt we would be 12-0. However, I did think our D was going to be straight dominant but that hasn't been the case... But not terrible by any means, we just can't be allowing over 20 ppg from the Silver Bullets!
Called undefeated season, since the offense was going to be better with other programs not necessarily on the rise, everybody was saying "We'll lose to MSU", I figured the UFM offense would arrive and we'd pull it out. So I'm doing okay :)
I think 12-0 is unlikely because far better Ohio State teams have made it beyond 6-0 only to go on to lose later. 12-0 is unlikely because in the history of Ohio State an undefeated season has happened only a hand full of times in over 100 years of play. 12-0 is unlikely because it's REALLY REALLY hard to do.
I agree this team will be favored in the remaining games of this season, but that means nothing. They have to come out on top. Plus who knows, there may be a freezing assed cold rainy day they end up playing and the offense sputters a little. There's a lot that can happen that will cause this team to not be 12-0.
I hope it happens, I think it CAN happen, but I don't think it's likely to happen. There's just too much that can pop up through the course of a season.
9-3, I think.

Would OSU enter next season #1 if they went undefeated??
USC finished 5th in the AP last year and started this season off as #1...
I think if the Tide or Oregon go undefetated and win it all then those teams will likely be the #1 heading into next year, but I bet OSU will be top 3.
I predicted 11-1 with us winning 2 out of 3 toss-up games against MSU, WISC, & MICH.
Since we've already beaten MSU (by the narrowest of margins) and WISC is terrible, the only tossup game remaining is MICH. I expect us to go in there 11-0.
A perfect season on the line against MICH in the best rivalry in sports? It would be gravy.
The postseason ban this season might not be such a bad thing if we ended up undefeated. Say we're 12-0 and proceeded to win our conference, we avoid signing up for a complete beating by the Pittsburg Steelers of Tuscaloosa.
@buckeyejason, going 9-3 means losing half our remaining games. What about our opponents puts such doubt in your mind?
I thought this was a "what was your summer prediction" topic?

Got it
I predicted 10-2 with losses to Wisconsin and Michigan State. That was before I knew that neither team would have anything resembling an offense. I still think the game at Wisconsin will be the toughest game left. They always play us close in Madison and it's a revenge game of sorts.
Figured we lose at MSU. I honestly thought D would be better and special teams. Also thought Michael Thomas would have some catches, along with Stoneburner.
We need more passing.
