I haven't heard anyone, reporters or fans, talk about the clock not moving during the two-point conversion. After Fields tied the game with his catch in the end-zone, there were three seconds left in the game.
Unless I'm missing something, the game clock should have restarted on the two-point conversion snap and expired during play, which would have taken at least 3 seconds. OSU should not have had to kick the ball back to Purdue.
It's really a moot point now, but I can't help wondering why no one from the media brought it up. Perhaps it was lost during all the hysteria of the comeback?
Curious about thoughts on this.

Clock doesn't run on PAT or 2pt conversion.
Don't want to be a grammar nazi but it's a moot point, not a mute point.
yep. Clock does not run on after touchdown plays. Nothing to get worried about and really a MOO point!
It's like a cows opinion, it's Moo.
This was the most awesom post ever!!!!
I wish I had come up with it. A million up votes for you.
"Did you push yourself to be great today? If you didn't do it you lost a day. We ain't got many days to lose. We're going to push your a$$ like its never been pushed because what you've got in you were going to find out" UFM
I don't remember but didn't OSU kick the ball off to Purdue after the 2 point conversion and then the clock ran out?
Yes and all extra points are untimed downs.
wow
Remember that in the end you will be judged not by what you believed, planned or dreamed; but, by what you did.
I remember my first football game! haha jk
"Anything less than flagrant is just playing grab ass!"
Nothing to see here, move along.
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
I don't have a problem if I make a grammatical or spelling error and someone corrects me.
So the clock never runs on PATs? I'm 48 and been watching football since Woody was coach, and I've never noticed this. It IS not a moo point.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Clock never runs on PATs or 2-point conversions.
Gee guys, thanks for clearing this up! And all this time I thought Brian Rolle was the fastest human being alive!

(Also, I'm not a dude)
Humble - Nice work on that ^. One upvote for you sir, and for bringing back the memory of that Rolle runback. That was the first time I'd ever seen an interception returned on a 2 point try, and I was thinking,"What is he doing?" And then when he got to the end zone and they gave OSU points for it, I was like "What?" I had no idea the rules on that.
How come someone always seems to call a timeout with 2 minutes left in the game yet neither team loses a timeout? Now that's weird...
:)
Rather than arguing with or otherwise responding to a particularly stupid or irrelevant comment, I think we should just respond with "Moo". Its better than downvoting, which should be reserved for comments that are really over the line.
Edit: At the risk of accumulating some downvotes of my own, I am willing to pioneer this concept. Who's with me?
Moo
Not sure whether to take that as an endorsement or a critcism of the concept, but have an upvote either way.
Muteness, a speech disorder in which a person lacks the ability to speak...so I guess if it is a mute point, "it goes without saying?" This is a great malapropism....

@Earle - As a vet I'm totally on board with the term being "Moo" instead of "Moot" point. It will only add to our Cow-Town charm. Up votes to you, sir!
"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read." - Groucho Marx
@Vet, all of our opinions are probably "Moo" to the rest of the non-Buckeye world.
@Earle. Moo on good Sir, and I will be there to Moo too. Great concept I will take downvotes for to begin.
Upvotes all around.
You guys are good! However, I did manage to correct one other spelling error, and a grammatical error, from the original post. Funny how karma works, when you have a degree in English.
Say it's not so! How did I NOT know about the PAT and Two-point conversion clock rule? Only played the game for six-years and watched for another forty-years-after. I honestly didn't know. Well, that explains why no one mentioned it.
Thanks guys!
Let me know if there's a remake of, "Dumb and Dumber," I'm primed for an audition.
