I hate to be a hater, but Brentwood Academy is a bunch if slow white kids. He's prob not even top 5 on my list of skill guys I'd like to have. I'd rather have Quick, Stevens, Gibson, LaRue, North, or Timmons. If we missed on those guys, then I'd take Elder.
@ buck in sec: Apparently you are not actually watching the game and/or are color blind. Less than half their defense is made up of what you call "slow white kids".
Brentwood is one of the top teams in Tennessee and have only given up more than 7 points twice this year. Prior to this game, they gave up 100 points in 8 games (over half of which was to Trinity). That is much better competition than most of our commits and recruiting targets will be facing tonight, and Elder is dominating them.
Put Ensworth in the public school league and they don't compete. Don't get me wrong, Elder is a good athlete but he isn't on the same level as Gibson, Quick, North, Stevens, or LaRue. There are only about 12 private school teams in the whole state of TN.
I hope Elder is in the class. Really like what I've seen and read about this guy. @216 everything I've read suggests we are in as good of a position to land Elder as anyone else.
Thought when first started watching this game "Wow what a nice field and facility for a high school, where is this". About that time they showed Tim McGraw and Faith Hill tucked into the upper corner of the crowd. Their daughters go to Ensworth. So it would be some upper crust folks in that district with taxes to match and/or that duo provides some of the funds supporting their daughters school. The announcers later said it could be the top HS facility in the nation.
No tax money goes into Ensworth. All of their funds come from tuition and private donations. Tim and Faith have been huge supporters of Ensworth for years. There is a lot of old money at Ensworth and MBA in Nashville.
Cool.
Will be interesting to watch him.
Good to know! Thanks for the find!

So he will be on ESPNU tomorrow (oct. 19th) and then @ the Shoe for the Purdue game on Saturday. Nice.

Kid is a stud. I'd take him
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
One of the top rated CB in the country and USC Jalen Ramsey plays for Brentwood. I wouldn't consider him slow or white for that matter.

@crusher... That's 1 player. There are 10 others on the field.
Looks like better competition than what Timmons or Jacobs plays against.

How's he doing tonight?
I think he's well over 200 yards.

My mistake, he just went over 300

Wow, that last touchdown by Ensworth was amazingly classless -- I'm glad my kids don't go there...

40 carries for 307 yards if I remember correctly.
Wow, phenomenal game by elder. Great speed, cutback ability and vision. What are our chances with him?

I'm surprised the Brentwood Coach didn't go all "Wyoming" after that game. I was looking for some f-bombs after that last second td pass.
