Carlos Hyde Bandwagon Rolls Out Again

It looks like he's getting better by the week. Is Buckeye greatness on the horizon?

I'm slowly starting to realize I was wrong. Hyde has been impressive, so has rod smith other than the fumble.

I've been saying that Hyde is a beast. All he needed was opportunities, I'm glad that he's taking a firm grip of the wheel!

Hope Hyde leaves that "eatin cereal" stuff alone the rest of the season... that stuff belongs North of the Ohio Turnpike.  Other than that, Hyde has been playing well.  I hope Urban does not give up on giving Smith chances to spell Hyde, due to fumbles....those 2 (Hyde and Smith) had me juiced watching the game last night.  I know you can't fumble, though.

@CC, I'm still hot and cold on Smith...I want him so badly to succeed and he is still young. I'm hoping the youngster can figure out how to keep the ball off the ground so his in game reps aren't diminished which would ultimately delay his development.

you have Hyde's season stat's Cajun?  wondering if he's on pace for 1,000 yards.  IMO, I'd put 1,200 yards as the level needed to reach, for Buckeye RB greatness, that or 17/18 rushing TD's.  Hyde is a LOAD though.

I think he might just reach the 1,000 yard mark...maybe.

I also noticed that Carlos has pretty good hands, and is great at those HB checkdowns.

296 of which was in the past 2 games though! It is rolling!

How about that horrible Hyde vision now? That guy made some amazing plays that would have been dead. Hyde is coming into his own and Rod Smith is becoming a capable backup. A bit crossed on whether I want Hall to come back or not.

When hall does get back, he might find that he's limited to situational downs only.

Nice to see Hyde get (slightly) more yards that Braxton for once!  Of course, if Braxton hadn't been tackled for loss so many times last night, Braxton probably still would have been our rushing leader.  Still, I'm glad we're starting to see a bit more parity in the run game between quarterback and running back.

There is a big chance for 1000 yds this year. We haven't seen his best game yet.

Here's the deal straight up - There is a direct correlation between Hydes recent stats and the vastly improved offense. Yes the O line is playing a role, but I say Hyde is the #1 back regardless of when Halls healthy...no need to rock the boat now.

I still love Rod Smiths potential at #2, but he did fumble again last night...wish he could get that fixed once & for all.

I had been telling me friends back home about him last year. I was big on the kid last year. Frustrated that he didnt get more chances last year to shine even though he brought alot of it on himself. Glad to see that he is making the most out of this and is really starting to break out.

I'm on the Carlos Hyde bandwagon from last year after Nebraska. I'm also on the Rod Smoth bandwagon. Jumped off the Jordan Hall bandwagon though.

Earlier this season I made a few comments that basically said I'd take Bell or Hyde any day of the week. I am not so sure I can stick to that comment. Carlos Hyde is a straight up beast!  He is big/fast and knows how to hit a hole. The last two games he has honestly looked like one of the better backs in the country!

If he didn't miss any game action due to injuries, he would probably be around 700 yards right now and for sure making it over 1000... we'll see what happens the rest of the season... if Hall comes back then obviously Hydes carries will significantly decrease thus not allowing him to get over 1000, plus Braxton is over 900 rushing already and should finish around 1200-1400 range.

Lets not forget that Urban didnt play Hall in the spring game because he had nothing left to prove. Hall is good and I would like to see him out there along with Hyde. Hyde being the feature back with Hall playing a more versatile role.

Hyde should get 20+ touches a game.

Hyde was definitely a Beast last night, and in reality has been for the last 3 games. I look forward to see how he continues in the second half of this season. I have been on his bandwagon since Nebraska last year and I am happy to see him healthy and getting his chance on the field.

Would love to see Hyde continue his freight train ways... Two 1000 yard rushers on one team wouldn't be a terrible thing. Anybody wondering if he's ever played LB? We could use his help...

Hyde has played great in the last two games.  I like the hard yards he's gained but I really like the fact he's breaking outside closed lanes and beating some people. Can he stay healthy? Can he keep up performances similar to the last two weeks? I don't know. I think he'll go over a 1000 if he does. I want to get on his bandwagon!

Hyde played his best game by far IMHO. Vision was vastly improved and he even made some people miss in the open field which was a delight to see. He truly is improving every week and should be praised for it. Rod Smith just kills his ownself. Kid has immense talent, but just dumb mistakes. It is truly disappointing to see him shoot himself in the foot like that. I don't think Hall when healthy should comeback and play tailback I think he should be in the slot and maybe run a few jet sweeps, but mainly used as a reciever instead of a runningback. Hyde and Smith Have this handled now and Hall can give us another reliable recieving threat.

I've been on the bandwagon since Michigan State.  I know there are a lot of fans of Rod Smith's ability, and I count myself among them, but you've got to feed the beast that Carlos has grown into.  Keep giving him the ball!

I wish Hyde would have been healthy for all of the games thus far, as I think he'd be the first Urban Meyer RB to hit 1000 yards.  As of right now, he needs about 109 per game, which is certainly no easy task.  I think he finishes with 850-900 yards, due to Jordan Hall's return and a lack of touches, but he has shown that he can handle 20+ carries in the Big Ten and should get to the 1000 yard mark in his senior season.

I'm happy Hyde's started to make people miss a little more, as opposed to trying to run them over. The one check down TD pass was great, and I finally saw him able to make someone miss in open space.

Great game; vision definitely looked better.  Lay off the wheaties; Denard is going to need all he can get this year.  Good stuff M TOTS., that would be sweet to hear from the announcers when he lights up Michigan.

I currently have 1 foot on the C.Hyde bandwagon, that TD run he had called down at the 1 was a perfect example of him doing everything I said he isn't very good doing.

Hyde must be taking notes on Miller's runs. He's no longer running directly at guys and trying to bowl them over. Now seeing Hyde use some of Miller's jukes and spins. Which translates into YARDS AFTER CONTACT (my favorite cfb stat). And now Hyde is a legitimate offensive weapon. Teams must now start planning for how to deal with both Miller and Hyde.

Glad to see things coming together for Carlos.

Devin and Philly Corey, it's your turn now. Catch the effing ball.
