Our defense is not good! We let Indiana put up 40 and pretty much move the ball at will on us. Thank god we can score 50-60 points because we would be in trouble. How do we have players like Hankins, Simon, Roby, Shazier but yet we give up big play after big play. We give up lots of points/yards to very average teams, we don't tackle, we miss assignments, our DB's like to jump routes pretty much every play and tonight against IU we had zero pass rush. This defense is hard to watch and I can't imagine what an elite offense team would do to us.

The D certainly isn't very good, but don't sell Indiana short, they have a good offense. Ranked relatively high in total yards, I think. Fared pretty well against Sparty last week, who most consider to have a very good Defense.

Our d-backs look slow slow slow against everyone we play.

Indiana was going to give us fits offensively and I guess we don't have to worry about playing an elite team this year anyways, but yeah defense is still showing their vulnerability.  My only real disappointment was how we didn't finish the game.  I doubt Urban is going to care for that either.

49 points is not "fits"

Yes, absolutely ugly. I thought I was watching the Browns defense for a minute. Linebacker recruits need to take notice and see that they could come in and play early.

It is Indiana. There is NO excuse for giving up 49 points to the Hoosiers. That was pitiful.

That was too close for comfort. Guys that I wasn't impressed with were Doran Grant played awful when he got it. Our LBs continued to miss tackles. I'm really suprised we threw Boren in there at LB instead of trying to develop one of our young guys. Our D line had a terrible day with the pass rush.  Props to Roby with his 3rd TD on the year on that punt block

I'm not trying to make excuses for the OSU defense, they were bad tonight.

But why are people hung up on the fact that our opponent was Indiana? I realize they haven't had much of any success lately, but Kevin Wilson is a quality coach. This is only his 2nd season there. He's known for his offense, which we saw first hand tonight. He was on the Northwestern staff that Urban studied from, actually. Entering this week, Idiana was top 30 in the nation in Yards per Game.

They're turning things around in Bloomington. Do I believe IU will be a serious contender in the B1G the next few years? Probably not. They won't land 5-stars, but they do a decent job recruiting. Have a lot of Ohio guys on their roster- that's always a good thing. Ohio kids can play. Also, that freshman QB was from California, they can play there too. With the stadium rennovations and small successes/ moral victories this season, recruiting should only get better. Maybe if some fans start showing up to the games, recruiting would be even easier for them.

This isn't the "Indiana of old." As far as I know, there's no NCAA bylaw that says Indiana can't have a good offense.

The Defense is simply giving up on plays, bottom line.  The onside kick recovery should never have happened.  Roby gave up on the ball when he saw it going out of bounds.  He should have kept after it and made sure it stayed OB.
