It would be nice for Timmons to put up a huge game against "real competition" to silence his critics.
Well, I have a friend whose son plays CB for Trinity, who committed to UofL then switched to Vandy (also offered by Michigan), who may be going against Timmons head to head. Will be fun to watch, and give us a better indication of whether he is the real deal.
Crazy that they are doing a Louisville against the rest of the State All Star game though. There are plenty of fine players from other regions of the state that are really good. NKY always has pretty good teams, and Lexington has some big schools that are bound to have good players too. Louisville gets a lot of press because of Trinity, and other schools like St X and sometimes Male, but it's not like they are just chalked full of great players and the rest of the state just sucks.
Kentucky football just isn't strong outside Trinity. Highlands is considered a power house and they are average at best. I'll take Quick not just over Timmons, but everyone in the nation.
That is a really strong statement. I really like Quick and hope he comes to OSU, but I don't know if I would go that far.
Click on the link, and tell me the author isn't a dead ringer for Peter Griffin.
^^^ Nice catch.
hahahaha #dead ringer
Buckeyes125, the overwhelming majority of the states you could says Trinity is the best, and in comparison no one else is close. Highlands is far from average at best. They would probably beat anyone in Kentucky not named Trinity. They haven't lost a game to a KY school in the last 3 years. They have beat some of your beloved GCL schools in the last 5 years. Yes, they did lose to Elder this year, but so has Moeller, Centerville, and Upper Arlington.
Kentucky football is never Elite, but in general, NKY competes at ALL levels of KY high school football better than Louisville schools.
I believe Trinity is playing Lasalle's GCL schedule this year so if you respect that league you gotta have a little love for their competition.
I'm not disputing how good Trinity is at all. Quite the opposite. I'm saying put Trinity in almost any other state, and they are going to be at the top and everyone else won't compare very well. How good Trinity is, doesn't have anything to do with the rest of the state and the players out there.
My point about NKY doing better in all levels is more about 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A divisions. NKY always seems to have a team or more in the finals of their given division. When I was in high school and there were only 4 divisions, an NKY team was typically in 3 of the division finals every year. The only one we never had much representation in was 2A because we just didn't have any of those schools.
That's what my post was about. Trinity is clearly the best team, but they would be in all but 2 or 3 states, that doesn't mean that teams like Highlands and Bowling Green aren't very nice football teams.
BTAlbert. Louisville has nearly a 1/4 of the states population plus they expand to include 5 surrounding counties so now we are near 1/2 of the population. so with it being played in Louisville and considering there are many counties either 1 are not able to field or 2 Eastern Ky only interested in basketball it tilts the other way quick. I just looked at rosters and this game is played so close to championships I would think Quick will not make it
