Currently., two (Actually, 3 - including this one. +1 to Norwalk!) forum posts on this site reference ESPN's B1G blogger, Brian Bennett's article, "Radical thinking needed for B1G title game."
What Bennett advocates has a better chance of becoming reality, if Buckeye fans lobby for it. This website could be the catalyst and with a home game this weekend, we could circulate a petition and get a helluva lot of signatures.
What do you think? Are 13 games better than 12?
I bet Urban Meyer would be interested. He works very well with the press. The advocating he did on behalf of his Florida Gator team, played a part in getting them to the MNC over Michigan.

what does this make us look like though as a fan base if we make a stink out of this? We harp on any other fan base acting entitled...this fits right up that alley to me
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
I see where you'r coming from, similar to the fans speaking up about The Game staying the last of the season or the HORRIBLE division names. I think no matter how many speak out about this, it is something that just won't happen.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.

I don't want to play in the Big Ten Championship Game. It would actually be an even bigger joke than sending the 3rd place team from our division there. Even though it is bound to be a horrible matchup this year, at least it will have implications for both teams, rather than having whoever Ohio State plays against already in the Rose Bowl win or loss.
How about we be happy with ending our season by destroying Michigan instead. I'm pretty sure that our players and fans can rest assured that we are the best team in the conference this year without having to play Nebraska again.
We complain about PSU fans and their arrogance and unwillingness to accept the punishment given in total defiance. We too, as Buckeyes, need to grit our teeth close our eyes and swallow the medicine. We're being punished for a reason whether or not we agree with it. Let's accept our punishment like honorable men and women and move on and not cause a scene.
Good call bolt, and it's only one year. Be happy it is only one season and a very bright future awaits!
Thanks for the upvote Wayes, never expected it for being a smart a$$. Anyway, I don't think we should have been banned from our championship game to begin with but since we are, this is the time to take our medicine and put that part of our NCAA penalties behind us. Why we didn't self-impose last year is beyond my understanding. However, it would be a good idea for the presidents to put in place a rule that would automatically put the highest ranked team (AP) in the B1G championship game if one of the division leaders is banned from post-season play. It would guarantee a decent matchup and cut out any political shenanigans.
This will never happen. The sanctions are here to stay.
You can't eat your pudding until you eat your meat.
Eh let the little boys have one more year at keeping the title out of our hands. Make them feel good with an * next to their championship win. The BIG along with the rest of the country know who the best in the BIG truly is and it will be proven again next year when we win it for real.
I dont think Urban would be onboard for this.. It just wouldn't feel right
I am looking forward to the TSUN Bowl for this season
O H I O is the Buckeye State
Not sure a buckeye led petition would get the job done. However, if the media led the charge, maybe!
But doubtful.
If Penn St beat us last week and ran the table...would you sign a petition for them to play in the title game?
There is a whole big world outside of Ohio that would absolutley come unhinged if the rules were changed now.
This is exactly what's wrong with college sports, athletes are taught they are above the rules and that they are special. We knew going into this season we were ineligible, regardless of record. Every player, coach, grad assistant, and ball boy needs to contemplate our fate sitting at home this holiday season while everyone else is ballin on tv and make a determination Ohio State will never be sanctioned again. That's how you change the culture of a program, whether it be Penn St, USC, or Ohio State.
I read this and the comments on them were good, some of which were mine. The key thing is that if OSU wins the title game the Rose Bowl has to take the winner... OSU wins the game, it would then look silly to take a loser to the Rose Bowl.
First we protest the Big Ten title game then we protest to be in a Bowl game. Not gonna happen.
