I don't know. There were a bunch of close games but we didn't get scored on like this.

i completely disagree the 02 defense was legit... this defense is well terrible

The 2002 defense was one of the greatest defenses in NCAA history. Not sure how this year feels even remotely similar.

in 02 the sentiment was our offense wasn't good enough (granted I was 8, but that's what I remember). So either way you look at it, one side of the ball was in question both years. The similarities are there, just in a different context

The defense didn't get scored on like this, but the offense didn't score like this, either. Instead of 52-49 games, they played 10-6 (Purdue) and 23-19 (Cincinnati) games.

CPLUNK...he was addressing the closeness of the games, so you must not remember. Great post and similar situation, I was only 11, but I'll never forget it.

Truth. I just don't see our offense beating a team like Alabama in its current state. Granted, I didn't see us beating Miami either but a defense has to keep points off the board. An offense has to put them on. One of those jobs are harder than the other. Just my opinion.

USMC11917 keep in mind that the best defense is a good offense, one that can stay on the field and keep the ball out of the other team's hands for long periods of time. Driving down the field, even without scoring touchdowns, can prove useful against good offenses.
