Spielman and McDonagh are getting good. just this morning, I listened to McDonagh's broadcast when he announced the death of Stefanie. If anyone hasn't heard it, it's very emotional. Just youtube "mcdonagh spielman". Not a huge fan of Beth Mowins but could be a lot worse.
Rather have Beth.

During the Indiana game, spent like 10 minutes OF GAME TIME interviewing that douche of a basketball coach. They let you watch the game during the interview, but at 1/100th the normal size.
Oh, and that was AFTER interviewing the AD for the same time.
That's not sportscasting, that's making me hulk smash.

Looks like Keels to the rescue this week! It's difficult to even take Mowins seriously in the booth!! And why would they stick the newbie Galloway with her? Galloway needs a strong partner until he gets some games under his belt.
At least we are not on Fox and have to listen to those guys. After Joe Buck made the Aj Hawk comment when he left Ohio State I have had zero respect for him.

Beth sounds like she's reading a transcript or doing the play-by-play for a volleyball game or something insignificant. This is B1G football, brother! Go play intramurals!
(Nothing against women or anything, not that I should have to clarify, but,) I'm just not used to the female play-by-play announcers, I guess. I'll gladly put up with the eye candy on the sidelines with the reporterettes, but having the females do play-by-play is like listening to a guy do a voiceover for a tampons commercial. It's just strange.

Whatever man, I'd rather the loot for coverage go to the BTN than you know who any ole day of the week. I'll sacrafice quality announcers so long as E$@& doesn't get a penny richer. Just my $0.02....pun intended. :)

I have listened to the S& G broadcast on several occasions, and they do a really good job. It's a student broadcast of the game and it's free. The only thing that I dislike is the ads that come on during the broadcast. I know you gotta pay the bills, but the ads come on in the middle of plays and you miss some of the commentary on what's going on.
Mowins is freakin bad. Last time I had a game that she was calling on, my wife said something to me unsolicited to the effect of "what's the announcer lady's deal? "she's terrible."
That coming from a far from seasoned college football watcher is all you need to know.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Was it part of our sanctions that we had to listen to Beth Mowins every other week? I dont remember that part.
@TennBuckeye: Thanks for the compliment! I'm glad that you think we're doing a good job. As for the ads, our broadcasts are run on UStream and they are the ones who control the advertisements, not SGSR, which I'm not a big fan of.

@buckeyeeddie -- I had the same thing happen. I generally can tune out bad announcing but she is especially hard. I don't know why but having female consensus is important for some reason.

Enjoyed her observation during the day game Saturday, that Kansas was trying to protect it's undefeated record in a shootout with Texas ! LOL
Beth is the worrrstttttttt. she is unbearable. Why do we keep getting stuck with her? Is it because were ineligible? I don't think I can stand another game with her.

Does ESPN think Ohio State fans will like this commentary duo because it's got Galloway? I don't see another reason why they would switch them from the noon timeslot. Regardless, I'll obviously be watching with the game muted. Hopefully it will be such a boring game that I won't need to be paying attention.
Good thing I'll be at the game and not have to listen to her talk.

Surely the scUM game would be an ABC game at noon and hopefully she's only an ESPN commentator. Give me Brad Nessler all day.
We keep getting Mowins because we have to keep playing shitty teams in the B1G. Games against Purdue and Illinois are going to bring out the 3rd or 4th string announcers every time.
