"When I visit schools outside the South, I'm always amused at how much people think they care about college football. They couldn't possibly comprehend how much people care about college football in Alabama. Here's an example from the news team at WSFA. Four guys got into a Cessna in Mobile Saturday to fly to Tuscaloosa to attend the Ole Miss game. Over my mom's hometown of Selma, both engines failed. The pilot and co-pilot saw a road cutting through a cotton field below and maneuvered for an emergency landing. The wings hit trees on the way down, but the plane and everyone inside survived the impact. So what did the men do after narrowly escaping death? First, they prayed. Then, when most would have arranged a pickup for their extremely expensive wrecked vehicle, found a ride home and thanked their lucky stars to be alive, they left their plane in the middle of a cotton field and hitched a ride to Montgomery, where they rented a car and drove to Bryant-Denny Stadium to watch Alabama steamroll Ole Miss. No, Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12 fans, you don't care as much as these people. You never will."

I took to twitter and called him an arrogant a-hole, he then published his comments to all of his 48k followers and blocked me. I've been dealing with Bama fans on my twitter ever since.
He insists I was out of line, but I still hold to my opinion and now not only do I think he's an a-hole I think he's a bully.
Was I out of line, or am I correct that this is just dismissive and well, a-holish?

The fans in Alabama have nothing else to live for except their elephant-logo'd football team. I wouldn't worry about it. OSU fans across the USA have other things to live for and focus on besides college football.. a la "But for Ohio State..."
I'm sure there are stories of Ohio State fans attempting to get to games and going to the end of the earth to do so. He's just doing his job as a media-monkey and creating news that solicites opinions from farthest ends of the spectrum. He's succeeding with all the buzz you've created (not attacking you on this, just saying he's done his job well).

Instead of calling him an arrogant A-hole I may have come up with something witty about Tea-bagging or poisoning trees.
After the Fiesta Bowl and championship season a guy came in to the little business I worked at decked out in Buckeye Gear. It was near CVG airport so I mentioned the game to him. He said I just came back from it. I've had season tickets since 1966, never missed a home game or Bowl game since. He took his whole family to the Fiesta Bowl. It was his grandson's first game.
I'm sure that g uy could tell you some stories about events he's missed and dire situations where he almost missed a game.

I wish people in Ala. cared as much about poverty, obesity, education and unemployment as they do football.
A) B1G fan would have just called in another airplane to pick them up and take them the hell out of Alabama!
B) how does a Bama fan afford a plane? I thought they drive around in pickups and RV's.
C) I thought a true Bama fan would have already been at the stadium the night before? Us B1G fans tend to plan better. Hence why you never hear of a stupid scenario about us.
