Since someone just posted a popular thread on WR wishlist, I thought I'd post one on our glaring position of need and importance... I will ask that it be 2 or 3 (depending on what you believe Urban's current emphasis on recruiting is). If you think he'd rather take 2 LBs, I'd guess you think he wants either 3 WRs plus another OL/S (we'll go w/ finishing at 23 recruits based on an estimate I read earlier tonight). If you think he'll take 3, you assume he only needs 2 WRs plus another (OL/S) or 3 WRs and no other position of need. I honestly think he'd prefer two LBs, 2 WRs, one OL and one Vonn Bell... And for his two LBs, my wishlist is Mike Mitchell and Holland Fisher (VT commit). I think he is more likely to get Mitchell and Skai Moore or JUCO Auston Johnson... OK, your turn!

Reuben Foster
Jalen Smith
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
Mike Mitchell and Chris Worley are my top two. Think both of them have a high ceiling at the LB position.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
+1 for R.Foster, and J.Smith. He did say WISH list right?!?!
Mitchell, Worley
Mitchell, Skai Moore, Anzalone.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
a.j. hawk and chris spielman
Mitchell, skai, worley
Current Buckeye Targets: Trey Johnson, Mitchell & Moore
Wish List: Foster, J. Smith & J Allen.
#Buckeyes
to be serious though, jalen smith, trey johnson, mitchell.
First for me is Mike Mitchell.
Beyond him, there are several good ones to consider (if the staff will take more than one). Trey Johnson, Skai Moore, Auston Johnson (I heard somebody say preferred walk-on for him, but does anybody know his actual speed?).
Wish list of the ones we have a shot at:
Mike Mitchell
Trey Johnson
Jaylon Smith (big time outside shot)
Am I the only one not that high on Mike Mitchell? He is an outstanding athlete, and very explosive, but I just don't see a football player. He doesn't appear fluid and looks easily confused. I don't care about high school stats at all. Competition mostly dictates numbers, and on top of that if you are D1 caliber you should be putting up big numbers regardless. I know it's hard to put stock in 7v7 drills, but Mitchell did not see the field much for his team during The Opening, and covering athletes in space seems to be precisely what our defense struggles with.
In conclusion, I would just like to say that I am a clown, watch from my couch, and have no business judging players. I will be excited for whoever Urban decides to offer and accept.
Anybody that thinks Ohio State has a chance at Jaylon Smith is definitely wishing in one hand.
Mitchell and then everybody else is way below but I would say Moore for the 2nd
No one wants Tim Kimbrough anymore? I'd take him in a second honestly. Mitchell IMO is a developmental guy who has freak athletic skill but needs to learn the position For a 3rd, I'd a take a JUCO kid who can come in and fill the position next year in case some of our freshman have a 2 year learning curve like Grant
What happened to all those studs we picked up in the last class?!
J Smith (top talent in years IMO) and M Mitchell (potential up the wazoo)
AJ Hawk, though I might settle for James Laurinaitis.
Right Again, those players are still developing. I'm guessing we might see a little of Josh Perry this weekend since he isn't dinged up at the moment.
We had success w/our last "freak athlete" LB, Mr.Shazier. I'd take Mr.Mitchell in a heartbeat. I like the S.Moore kid too, he definitely reminds me of Mr.Shazier, right down to the number. Haven't really watched much of the Kimbrough kid so can't say much about him. Honestly I'm no longer concerned with recruiting because I know Mr.Meyer is going to address his needs, and has an extreme eye for talent.
Mitchell (and his brother to play for Thad) and Kimbrough or Trey Johnson. That would be an awsome way to close the Linebacker side of this recruiting class IMO.
Smith (flip) and Mitchell would be awesome
I think Kimbrough could be a consistent tackling machine and would love to have him.
I want whoever Meyer thinks is the best leader and can step in for playing time right away. All of last years high ranked recruits aren't seeing much time at LB just special teams so I am assuming they have the talent but don't know how to "play" the position yet. But, my dream would be flip Jaylon Smith and Mike Mitchell.
OK. I went to ESPN and read their recruting coverage...
They have Skai Moore visiting this weekend. Has anyone heard if he is coming?
i got downvoted, ouchy
i dont know why you would be downvoted for listing 3 players but i digress. i like mitchell anytime someone is that freak of an athlete and puts up the numbers he does i think they have a good shot. i like seeing our wish lists but id like to see the coaches more. imo mitchell, smith, johnson, and anzalone were very high on urbans board but its all speculation. i like kimbrough guy seems like a ball player
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I agree (and thus upvoted) Sir Rick, I'd love to know what the hypothetical 'big board' of the coaches have at each position. Even though I'd love to see Jaylon Smith join his brother Rod at OSU, the way ND's defense has been playing makes it awfullly unlikely (would you want to play on a defense that's praised every week, or criticized?). Mitchell plus Smith is the best possible (naturally the two best in the country [Smith/Foster] is like wishing in one hand...), Mitchell plus Kimbrough is pretty good too (forgot he lives closer than Fisher).
Consider me in the Mitchell / Johnson camp, but if we got Jaylon Smith back from ND, that would be living the dream.

trey johnson, danel mcmillian, -dream/unlikely

Mitchell, Moore and/or Johnson if we have to pick from who isn't committed and realistic for us.
Otherwise I would like the McMillian kid too. Let's not forget, there is a real possibility of Darron Lee playing LB at the college level, which is an enticing prospect to me.
Well would really like Kimbrough because of his instincts and knowing how to fill a hole and read a play. Also count me in on Mitchell (lots of potential) and Trey Johnson. I think it will end up realistically with Worley and Kimbrough if he hasn't soured to much from us not initially offering.
I like Kimbrough. He looks like a true middle linebacker. I think we've been burned the last couple of years thinking that we can teach an OLB or a really good athlete to be a MLB(i.e. Sabino, Klein, jury is still out on Grant). I love Mitchell's measureables but am not sure he's a great fit. I think he's a Sam or a Will LB and next year we will have plenty of those with last year's haul of LB's stepping up.
