The 2nd scariest part of Braxton going down (after fearing his well being) was/is we could be 1 play away from Cardale "I ain't come to play school" Jones! I have the feeling if it came to that, Urban would exclusively use our version of the wildcat (the Wild-Buck, Buckwild or Uncle Buck), whatever we call our running back in lieu of a QB? What would you do?

would make sure cardale is ready to play, if he isnt already. he is suppose to be a qb, right?
Can Zach Boren also play QB?
After Guiton threw that pick, I was wondering if Cardale would get a chance. However, I am glad that Urban stuck with Kenny G.
Just curious is he redshirting or not
Cardale has an awesome arm with great deep touch chemistry w Mike Thomas. He's also up to 245 or so. I'd worry about his decision making on the midrange in zone coverage but he should be pretty good at a zone read and a deep pass. He won't be another Blowserman.
Ha dayton your a little off..have you heard how urban talks about kenny? and im talking before this weekend
Well i like college and i like football...and im gunna keep doin em both cause they make me feel good!!!
On Urban's radio show last week he was praising Kenny G, even before his play against Purdue. Then he talked how much Cardale's work ethic, attitude and grasp of the offense had seen a big improvement. He also said Cardale had gown a couple of inches and gained about 40 pounds!
I have no idea how Cardale is at running the offense but I can tell you that in warm ups before the games he throws a sick deep ball. He puts that thing seventy yards downfield in a receiver's hands without even stepping into it. My father went to one game with me and can't stop raving about Cardale's arm.
Cardale really CAN throw a ball over that mountain.
I would be confident if he came in. Afterall, like you said, his primary focus is football, not getting an education.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

@Hail ZING!! lol Also my laptop hates you, as I spewed coffee on it from the laughter of that post, well done good sir.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
I can't believe I just gave an up vote to a TSUN fan.
well played, Hail
Hail: good one, but watch what Cardale does, not what he says - apparently, he's been very good about going to his classes and completing his assignments. The tweet = Cardale blowing off steam.
You're right, though, if Cardale were at Michigan and "majoring" in General Studies, he probably wouldn't have looked a gift horse in the mouth.
Cardale is from up in my neck of the woods and i can attest to the fact his arm is def big league and his running is underrated esp with his size as he is a big kid. With that said, his biggest problem will always be between the ears. Fortunately for us we wont have to worry about this as hell be back at No. 3 on the depth chart this week.
Do you think we would of gone with Justin Siems before Cardale?
I would like to see Cardale play one day or maybe next year. He is a huge Qb could run if needed.
Wherever you are, there you be!
No idea on the Justin part. With Cardale not getting a snap in the spring game and his recent suspension he might have been placed #4. But it is hard to say because he is so talented that no way should Justin be ahead of him.
at cardale's size now, I'd give him a look at MLB...it's either him or the waterboy as "next man up" if our FB goes down

So what if Cardale blew off some steam on Twitter? His punctuation and grammar were very good by internet standards, he actually goes to class and has decent grades IRL, and we have a guy starring in the backfield who did the same thing last year (Hyde). If the kid works hard in the classroom, weight room, and practice, let him say a foolish young thing every now and again. It's a young guy being a young guy.
It was enough to warrent te kid a one game suspension by Urban. PRelations is important in college football. It matters because of the reaction it got, that is the only reason.
my money would be on cardale never being the osu starting qb, right now the way its looking is JT barret will take over his junior year once braxton moves on, barrett looks very composed as passer too and personally believe he is far ahead of where braxton was throwing the ball coming out of high school. however, im sure we can all bank on miller having the better shakes between the two, which may seem less signifcant than passing ability until u factor in the points his "shakes" have scored for the good guys this season
I actually have the opposite view. I see Cardale taking the spot after Braxton Leaves. Barret isnt that great of a passer and coming out of high school everyone thought Braxton would be an amazing passer. If you compare high school tapes Braxton is a better passer. I just think Cardale is flying under the radar picking things up and when his time comes he will be the one. He has a CANNON for an arm. Throws a beautiful deep ball. He jus tneeds to work on the underneath. Sounds like another long shot Tarblooder QB.
Does anyone know if Cardale Jones is redshirting this season?
He will redshirt unless he is needed (ie Brax is hurt, Guiton is hurt). Otherwise, they won't want to burn eligibility for no reason. You don't have to necessarily "red shirt" a player before the season is over. If he doesn't play enough (which he hasn't) you can declare it a red shirt at years end.
I do believe that we had a situation when Troy was suspended for the Alamo Bowl and Zwick got dinged up in that game. Up until that point, Todd Boeckman had not played enough that season and was going to red shirt, Tress decided to run Ginn at QB to preserve Boeckman's redshirt.
As far as Cardale goes, put that man in the game. I have faith in him but MORE IMPORTANTLY, I have faith in the system and the coaching staff
@osu07asu10 Agreed with everything but the last bit. Not sure the context of needing to put him in the game if we have Braxton and Guiton.
@Steensn...
Sorry for that, didn't mean play him now. Just mean I've got confidence if he has to play. Cardale is just fine watching at the moment, but I've got no worries about him if the injury bug would work its way to our QBs
Were you only half joking there tennbuck? I wouldn't put it past boren to try. I'm pretty sure if they asked boren to kick he'd do it. Probably irrelevant to the conversation, but damn I love that guy. True heart of buckeye.
Well as long as Brax is in then we're two plays away. Kenny G stepped in and made his mark Saturday...who's to say Cardale couldn't if he had to come in?
Class of 2010.
@osu07asu10 makes plenty of sense now.
@tennbuckeye & @luckynutz
I've been told by numerous people on the team/report on the team that they would seriously put Boren at QB and run Tebow-like options with him if Guiton were to go down as well. I honestly am not making this stuff up.
In my opinion, this offense would be hilariously awesome.
Don't give up... Don't ever give up.

Just for the hell of it.
If that's the case, it'll likely be Rod Smith playing QB, which was his HS position.
"I like to kick Michigan's ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum."
Wow... The YouTube video.... Just wow.
I went to the MSU game and got to the stadium early and watched warm ups. I was watching Cardale throwing and good god does he have a cannon of an arm. I wouldn't expect him to be ready to go this year but I won't write him off in the future. I do remember another one of our QBs from Glenville screwing up big time (I think right before the M*ch*g*n game in 2003) and he ended up being adored by us.
By the way, who all remembers Troy returning kick-offs in 2003? I remember that happening but not sure about it.
@J.MO +1
Troy did do some kick returns back in 03 but I am unsure how many he took in games. I actually remember him getting a few carries that year as well, I do believe ACTUAL carries (although I was aw(some)fully drunk that season) in the backfield, and a few as a QB.
I think if he'd chosen such a delicate and pleasant way to express his thoughts, such as the youtube song, they may have not been so ill-received.
