I know we still haven't filled the class of 2013, but with all the attention on the strenghth of the talent of the class of 2014, who will be the first 2014 recruit to commit to start flood of studs waiting to part of our 2014 recruiting class. I think it will be Clifton Garrett which will hopefully bring Raekwon McMillan and Da`Shawn Hand, or will Drew Barker commit on the spot when he receives his offer. Or will it be a mass commitmemt with 10 recruits all commiting on the same day, maybe after a victory against tTUN. Or, will it be a little known recruit, like an offensive lineman that will fill a need that we aren`t able to fill with the limited number of scholarships we are struggling with this year.
Or, there's the possibility that it's someone that hasn't been offered yet and commits on the spot. What are your thought's?

Won't be Garrett, I think he'll go past his senior year, lot of schools will be in contention for him, MSU, OSU, OU and any SEC schools that jump in. Will be a lot harder to get than most think, I think harder than McMillian. My opinion its either Booker, Marcelys Jones, maybe Lattimore or Snodgrass or a guy like Barker, Trout and Darius West if offered.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Silently...Monte Nicholson.
Publicly...Drew Barker.
Also gonna say Booker
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
Booker
McMillian Booker or Barker
Might be a race between booker, nicholson, and wildcard would be trout if offered
why do people keep thinking it's going to mcmillian? he's said multiple times he won't go public with anything until the UA AA game his senior year.
booker or barker or lattimore. these 3 would be soooo lovely what a great start to the class that would be

Just got a feeling Lattimore will drag it out. I think he will be a buckeye but those Glenville guys seem to have a rep for taking their time with their recruitment

Either Barker or Snodgrass...
Booker seems closest to commiting of those who already have an offer. However, if Barker gets the offer I think he'll get, he could be first in. It's hard not to see the excitement he has for OSU.
I'd say Barker once he gets the offer
After reading this, http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1211765.html, I hope we offer and get Dareian Watkins.
I'm going with Booker, and I think Watkins if he gets an offer before Booker commits. They are my favorite two of that class so far.
@Millertime, many recruits say that, but few hold true to it.
I'm going with the trio of Garrett, McMillan, and Booker on the same day! (Just messing!)
@BJMullens - I agree w/ u about Garrett. I think he is one of those guys that will drag it out as I've noticed about a month or so ago, he had a different leader every other day (MSU, ND, OSU). Garrett will be harder to get than what most ppl think.
McMillan has said he will wait for the UA AA game, but that dosnt mean it's a lock for him to announce on that day. He could come for his OSU visit & really like it to where he wants to commit when is best for him. He has been really showing his OSU love & interest so it wouldnt suprise me to be a leader for this class. I also just read somewhere that McMillan would like to be a leader in his class & committing to a school to help his class recruit is a strong consideration.
IMO there are quite a few top kids in the state of Ohio that would be on the watch list of commits if they had an offer such as Trout, Darius West, & Watkins. Im still confused as to why Kyle Trout dosnt have an offer. We need big elite tackles, well Trout is a big boy, he's lean (meyer likes big/skinny tackles), hes in our own backyard at a school that has put plenty of kids to OSU, kid has dreamed of playing at OSU, he's the top tackle in the state (I see Byrne as a Guard or RT), a top 5 tackle in the Midwest, what gives??? Watkins is a playmaker who could end up playing WR or DB in college. West has proved at FNL that he has elite speed, great cover skills, & is a top 2 DB in Ohio. All 3 want OSU offers.
Now talking about commitable offers & who will be the realistic commit for 2014, I would have to go with a big physcial leader like Dante Booker. Right now I believe Booker has OSU written all over him, even if another top program came in to recruit him. I think Lattimore is a silent verbal already, just wont make it public till later, because like most of you said, Glenville kids drag it out to help get exposure to other teammates. Thaddeus Snodgrass will be 1 of the first 3 commits. I thought Byrne would be our first commit, but its seems ND has swept him off his feet. OSU better get things rolling w/ Byrne before its to late. We cant be letting our top players at positions of need in our back yard be going other places (when they have an OSU offer).

@MOOPDAWG... Great read on Watkins.
Barker is my best guess.

I dont know about Lattimore being a silent verbal already, he visited G tech last weekend and his recruitment has barely just begun. I'm thinking we lead for him now, but hopefully no other big schools are able to come in and steal a big playmaker from ohio.
Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
I still think Garrett, I believe his is all Scarlett and Gray but is caught up playing the recruiting game. I think when he can commit he will without hesitation
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
I think I will go with in order, the law firm of Booker, Barker and McMillan!
Sidz I am pretty sure if Garrett wanted to commit now Meyer mos tcertainly would allow him to. You don't make a player of his caliber wait
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
TRIV - You may be right, I just thought there may be some "unwritten" rule or understanding that they won't be accepting commitments until after a certain date. (e.g. the end of the season). I'm sure at least one of the 2014 recruits has made up their mind already that they will commit, there must be a reason why they wait.
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
My guess would be that they just want to make sure they're making the right choice. Also why not take a few visits where a school rolls out the red carpet for you? I don't think there's any rule about it, written or unwritten. I think it's just kids wanting to play the game or make sure they make the right choice for the next 4 years of their lives

Well not to mention we still have most of this season to go and next year before they are "required" to commit. Any one of these 2014 recruits have plenty of time, so no reason to worry about it now. I enjoy playing the guessing game but to argue over if/when these guys will commit when we know its not going to be for probably at least 4-5 months.
Might as well ask who is the next head coach after Urban.
