I've been trying to learn more, watching individual players. I want to be able to go back and forth quickly to see, for example, what Reid Fragel is doing on pass blocking. My DVR from Time Warner, and VLC on my computer make it too hard to reverse and go back forward quickly. Any suggestions? Open source software would be the ultimate goal. Thanks

Most coaches use DVSport or Hudl
thanks
Majority use http://www.xosdigital.com/
they also have cameras in the coaches box that allow them to focus on the different positions individually

At Gilmer ISD in Texas we had a program that would let you type in a players number and it would show the footage of their play. You could zoom in on inviduals and do a 360 degree angle or whatever. It costs SEVERAL thousands of dollars though and required some serious hard drive space and memory. I don't remember what the software was called though sense it's been 4 years sense I worked there.
