Michael Chung (a contributor to theOzone) tweeted that Nick Glass told him he believes Vonn Bell will commit to Tennessee. I know this is just a rumor and we have to see how the season plays out, but which way does the staff go if they can't Bell out of the south? Is this where Worley comes into play or do they give that extra scholly to Timmons? Or maybe move Burrows to safety and recruit another DB?

@BuckI.8... Considering Nick Glass is a soft verbal to UGA, it would be funny if he flipped and came to OSU... I wonder if you would be dogging him then? I work with high school kids every day. They don't know how to keep their mouths shut and there more than likely is some truth to whatever they say. If he is saying this, I'd say Bell has said something of that nature.
@buckeye_in_sec...I don't know why you're making such generalized statements about one kid. he is a soft verbal to uga and was quoted as saying he was going to try and keep raekwon mcmillain from going to osu, but now he is considering osu. I think that's why some posters are taking things with a grain of salt.

Look at the 2014 Offers/Commits on this website and it lists Nick Glass as a soft verbal... That's why I made the statement. I understand people are taking it with a grain of salt and yes high school kids change their minds all the time. I realize that. Nobody is even answering the latter questions in the post... I was wondering where the staff goes if we do miss on Bell...

You still haven't showed me where I dogged him. He's a kid whose early commitment means nothing because he constantly says he's 100%, but then talks about the other schools and programs he would like to visit/play for. He wants publicity, and if someone asks him about another prospect in his state, he's gonna say anything, because it gets his name out there. I simply said that his baseless view shouldn't be taken as gospel.
Despite your personal attacks, however, I will answer your questions. If we don't get Bell, most believe that Worley will get the spot. Safety is a need, and despite scout speculation, Burrows is a corner. Thank you for you attempt at "recourse", but you're the only one offended, so respectfully, calm down a little, your blood pressure will thank you.
I doubt Bell goes to UT when they end up 6-6 this year and Dooley gets fired. Although depending on who they could bring in as the next HC, things could get interesting. If he does end up in Knoxville, as others have said, we turn to Worley. From what I can tell, Timmons will only come into play if we miss on Quick or Gibson.

@BuckI.8... He's supposed to report the info and quotes he is given... That's what brings readers back to the site. Can't fault him for quoting the kid. If that's the case, no reporter should ever quote an opinion... They should only quote researched, proven facts.
It's not black or white, I'd think you would know that. But a kid's quote based on nothing should be considered before firing it off. No use sending recruiting fans into a negative frenzy based on some kid's "feeling"
That being said, it's at his discretion. But it's at mine to criticize the quote, and say it should be taken with a grain of salt, as I did primarily.
SEC - I don't see it happening, but if UT wins 8,9, or 10 games then my father-in-law (a UT grad) will be both happy and upset. Happy because his Volunteers will have had a good season, but upset because he thinks Dooley is a joke of a coach and needs to go.
BTW: the issue i have with the quote is that it was, as Buck I-8 said, based on a Nick Glass "feeling" and not based on him talking to Bell. It doesn't mean anything to me that Glass feels that Bell is going to Tennessee.

Agree with Alex. I doubt Glass knows anything about Bell's college plans.
I think the reason most people think UT is a 6-7 win team is because they are overhyping the SEC... The SEC east is weak this year guys... UF struggled with BGSU, South Carolina and Vandy both aren't very good, UGA didn't look good against Buffalo, and Mizzou won't be up to par for the physicality of the SEC... The majority of UT's offensive starters especially their O-line have been starting for 3 years. There's a lot of experience there and if Bray, Hunter, and Patterson stay healthy they have an explosive offense. Jesse Palmer said on College Football Live that with Rogers no defense in the country could've matched up with their receiving corps... He even said that it will be tough for most schools even tho Rogers is gone. There are 2 really good teams, 1 good team, and the rest are average in the SEC this year. Bama is ridiculous, LSU is really good, and UT is going to be a solid team I believe.
The original tweet from Michael Chung said that Nick Glass thinks Bell would commit to UT... The 2nd tweet Chung put out said that was Glass' feeling... It looks like Chung might have backtracked a little.
To Chung's credit, it was probably a facebook convo where Glass said something, Chung assumed warrant and tweeted it, and then the details came afterward. Still, not a good idea to jump the gun, as a journalist.
SEC, you're not alone in this, but a lot of you are putting way too much weight into the one game that has been played so far. Teams usually get better as the season goes on, and more times than not, the first game is their worst game. Not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't assume too much about any team being great or awful based on one game.

The OSU vs UT series has been cancelled... I was really looking forward to it because I live in TN and was going to catch both games in Columbus and Knoxville... I have a lot of friends who are UT fans obviously living in TN so it would've made for a couple of great weekends.
