I'm tired of hearing about us leaving out a tradition, the hive. It's not a Buckeye tradition, as many other schools do it. Same with Seven Nation Army, it's not a "Buckeye Thing" everyone uses it and it's stale. Wouldn't mind if we found a new song to get pumped-up on. Any suggestions?

I miss the hive though. Game day didnt have the same feel as it normally did. It got all the students pumped up more than quick cals does.

Bring back the hive !!!!! The video montage was cool, but the football team entrance was pretty anticliamtic. I always thought it would be cool to have the Star Wars' Imperial March playing as the football team was walking down the tunnel, and then riff into GNR's You Could be Mine, or something of that ilk.
BTW, I've also always wondered why no MLB closers have use the Imperial Death March as their entrance music. Just a slow steady walk, staring straight ahead, from the pen, as the song is playing. I think it would be awesome. I want this for Aroldis!
I agree with the sentiments of the OP. Especially with Seven Nation Army. That seems to be not just at every school now but at tons of non CFB sports venues as well. I just don't like it because it's unoriginal. We weren't even the first ones to do it (though probably one of the first in CFB) now it's even all over soccer stadiums around the world. Although I did like the chant years ago for Alejandro Moreno.
I think you have to give the Quick Cals some time. Looks promising to me. Yes, needs to have some bugs worked out of it as mentioned in other threads like killing the music and such, but it's cool. Unique.
Couldn't agree more Bolt. When Indiana (just using them as an example, don't know if they have) can easily adopt a "tradition" (Seven Nation Army), you're doing stadium atmosphere wrong. There's nothing inspiring or unique about Seven Nation Army. Given that Block O is generally worthless, I've tempered my expectations over these past few seasons. Hell, I'd prefer the Sopranos theme song that was played a couple of seasons ago. At least that was somewhat original.
Hey guess what? We (Block "O") still did the hive by ourselves yesterday. It was an Eric Lichter thing, he's gone now, so it won't continue with the team. When I was on the field yesterday taping the Quick Cals (and later the banner/team entering), I got chills because it was so awesome.
To the guy above me who said the hive got the students more pumped up than QCs, I can assure you that you are completely 100% wrong lol. You have to actually participate to enjoy it though.
I was participating, both this year and last year. It got me a lot more pumped and showed unity and teamwork as opposed to just clapping and doing hand gestures. Sorry but we are a fan base, not a gang.

I still don't see why it's out of the realm of possibility to do both. Even incorporate one into the other somehow. But whatevs.
It would be cool to do the hive when they were coming out of the tunnel after script Ohio.
