5* Safety currenlty commited to USC but (according to ESPN) still wants to check out Wolverqueens and OSU saying "I still want to go to Michigan, I still want to go to Ohio State," Cravens told WeAreSC.com recently. "Urban Meyer is doing a great job up there. Really, I just want to see what it's like and how the options weigh. I'm still committed to SC. Trojans for life. We'll just see how it goes."

Wouldn't that be nice if we could get him to flip and Bell to commit? Our Secondary would have the potentional to be great in a few years, maybe the best we've seen at OSU in awhile (depending on how all the S/CBs pan out and if we even land Bell or Cravens) Still interesting to think about.
EDIT: Alex, or anyone else have you heard anything regarding Cravens and a potential visit?

would be great, dont see it remotely happening.
Seems like another case of a guy taking advantage of a free official visit.
Does he have an offer, and is it committable? We already have Thompson and Lee, who are both going to be outstanding, and Bell is a lock for us. Why would this craven even need to visit, and on our dime?
I always get a good chuckle when kids say "I'm still committed to _____" and yet are visiting other schools to "see how it goes", lol. Clearly they are not familiar with the definition of the word committed.
Maybe UFM should just flip him, just to get back at Kiffin. Didn't Kiffin and UFM have some kind of recruiting dust-up a few years back?
Weighing your options and 'Trojans for life' are mutually exclusive statements.
I say let the kid visit, he's a big time prospect, but I wouldn't expect him to flip to OSU.
BuckGuy- FWIW: Bell is not a lock to OSU. He likes OSU & Urban, but it was said that Tennessee leads for him right now.
Also just read James Quick is planning an official soon, and his teammate who is also committed to USC DE Jason Hatcher wants to visit OSU as well now. With Bell, Johnson coming for visits, we're going to have a lot of big name players coming within the next few weeks, hopefully we'll snag/sway most of them.
can't wait for Thompson to get here - he and Zeke Elliott seem like guys that are huge for chemistry and make everyone around them better.
the kids are playing their tail off, and the coaches are screwing it up! - JLS
You can go to a differs school and still be a fan of another. Sometimes you pick the best option for you not based on your fandom. All those kids in Ohio that didn't get commitable offers to the Bucks but went to a different school can till be OSU fans. I graduated from Toledo but could care less about their football.
BuckGuy Bell is not a lock for us many people actually say Tenn has a slight edge over us because its close and was his team he followed growing up. I'll take this kid any day
I'd be a very happy man if Meyer could flip this guy

Would absolutely love to have him, but that ship has sailed my friends. Vonn Bell is just as big a talent IMO, let's focus on swaying him away from the Vols
I don't see this happening...and I'm not sure it's going to take much persuasion for Bell. Gene had an article today about him and he sounds all but in with OSU. I think the Nebraska game could be all the sway OSU needs;-)

Don't see a flip even if he does visit .0000001% chance
It's a big, big stretch. I can't see it, but I do think it's great to have top talent visit, regardless of the outcome. Word of mouth is the best advertisement!
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
i think he's just coming to use an official visit .. but then you never know what Coach Meyer can do with a top prospect to flip them to the Buckeyes
Alex-
Totally agree. And I'm not sure how official are done, but I know the host team pays. If he wants to visit, it should be unofficial. Otherwise, this kid is potentially robbing Gee of a another bowtie, or taking another kids chance who may have actual interest.
Anyone think that a continuation of poor defense/tackling throughout the season would scare away some of these elite recruits? Or can it just be explained away because they are young/learning a new system/rebuilding?
Most highschool (if not closer to all) prospects want to visit OSU because of the reputation of the visit. Always here about how HS players love visitng Ohio State, soak in the great facilities and go on a night out (or two) in Columbus on someone else's dime...to be honest, having gone on 7,000 nights out in Columbus, dont blame the kid, hope he has a good time.
No, I think the tackling or lack there of will be a pitch to recruits that they'll be able to come in and compete early. Just reading some things online, I kind of have a feeling we may get Cravens to flip.. "What the hell makes you think that?!"... Just a feeling....just a feeling. (road trip) op sorry.
why wouldn't a cornerback/safety prospect want to come here, all they have to do is know how to TACKLE and they can play here. LOL

Buckguy, if the kid wants to come for a visit and possible think about recommiting to OSU, I am all for it. Cravens is a heck of a player. Comparable to Bell, better than thompson and Lee! If Bell and Cravens do come to OSU, with Woodard and Burrows, this would be the most talented backfield in the country.
but like Alex said, not much of a chance. Really hoping for Bell. That way its is Burrows, Woodard at CB, Thompson and Bell at safety with Lee as the STAR. With those 5 guys, wouldn't need a Mike. Although I am still all for Cam Williams getting PT over Grant and Klein. I really think he was meant to be a true Mike. Grants physical abilities put him there but not his mental process, and Klein is too slow to be effective. I don't think either of them were meant to be the middle. Williams is a MLB!
Can we put Grant into one of those Steve Urkel machines that turns him into Stephan Urkel so he can read offenses better?
@squirrel: just to clarify Klein is a senior so he won't play with any of these new guys. Next year it will be interesting to see how the current freshmen at LB progress, because even though Shazier has had some great moments and has some amazing physical tools, he has also made some big mistakes and will need to rectify those to keep his spot with some of the raw talent we have behind him.
Nah, focus on Vonn Bell.....GIMME SOME V SMOOTH!!!!
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
Rdubs, I was referring to this year! I think Cam Williams should get a shot at MLB this year. Either that or just put the MLB position on ice till next year and just go straight STAR with Johnson.
Grant is a physical talent, I just don't see him being the leader or controlling the middle like a true MLB should be. Williams should get a shot this year at that position. Especially if we don't see any improvement over the next couple of games. I say if Grant doesn't get it by the Nebraska game, then Williams should get a shot!
Agreed, I would play whoever earns it. I am still confident in the staff. I just hope Grant earns it this week because we need a "grown ass man" there!
