If he can come to OSU and not cause any drama then I say we take... I'm sure the staff will know what to do. Rumor was he just had twins so I can't see him moving all the way to Bama and leaving his family. They will be the ones that help him with the kids. I actually see it as a Pitt and OSU battle. I thought the staff was done with him too.
What I would give to see Urban's recruiting board...we all sit here and relentlessly speculate, analyze, and predict--yet the truth is that we only know as much as these kids tell us. It'd be so cool to actually know who we want, where, and in what order.

I know everyone likes to speculate as far as recruiting goes, but the one interview he had where he said he played college football video games with Ohio State and Terelle Pryor just always made me think the buckeyes would be close to the top of his list. He also has a younger friend on his team, and he said it would be cool to for the both of them to go to the same school, like TP and Jordan Hall. I think the "he has a bad attitude!" quote gets thrown around a lot with this kid as well. Hell I am in my mid 20s and I still have my moments. Just my 2 cents...
FlyerMike - I remember that interview. Pryor & Hall and Foster are from the same area in PA. I have a feeling a lot of kids in that area look up TP. Regardless of what some of us might think about TP, he has his share of fans, and I'm sure in that area TP is somewhat of a legend. I think Foster must like OSU, otherwise why would he keep listing them so high with Pitt and Bama, which are the 2 schools that I've heard have the best shots at landing him (Pitt due to the proximity to his hometown, and Bama because its Bama and they're trying to sell him as the "next" Julio Jones).
I would like to see what happens once Foster takes an official visit to OSU.
When is he scheduled to visit?
I think that if the coaches had told him they were not interested in him than he would have not put OSU in his Top 3. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.
Maybe the injury issues at RB recently has opened the door now for Foster to get back into the mix. Ball is out all this year and who knows if he becomes injury prone. Hall will be gone. Hyde might be the starter with Dunn backing him up. Smith I think will and should transfer for himself. Elliott is a different beast than Foster. Things are definitely different since season started!Wow, I was totally talking about Derrick Green. LOL

I keep hearing about his "off the field stuff." What exactly is wrong with this kid? I have seen reports that he isn't really interested in academics and just wants to play football, but that doesn't mean he is a bad person. What did this kid do to earn such a bad rep?

Well it was well known that OSU advised D.Green we'd no longer be persuing him, and he dropped us from his list of schools. It has been said OSU isn't persuing R.Foster, yet it was never annouced. We've continued to hang around his top list of schools, and here we are in his top 3. It has to be more to it.

I remember watching Robert Foster highlights last year after we missed out on Devonte Neal, I saw alot of things that reminded me of Tedd Ginn, although he probably isn't as fast. Robert Foster would fit in perfectly at Ohio State, Bama just wants him because Saban is a prick. Besides, most people in Alabama say we can't play football up north anyways, if I were a recruit, I wouldn't go down south to satisfy those idiots. Ohio State should be on his final list, it should be 2nd to Pitt, unless he wants to win it all & stay close to home, than OSU should be #1.

Said it months ago and I'm sticking to it... Foster will *NOT* be a Buckeye.
He just sat out the first quarter of his game tonight because of a discipliary reason. Huge fan of this kid on the field but all the evidence i have heard points to him being a problem off of it. Based on talent alone I would take him over any WR on our board Quick included. Just hope he doesn't waste his talent by being an idiot.
I hope he comes I think urban could give him direction. This isn't Tressel, I think when Urban was at Florida he had a tough bunch of kids a lot from some tough spots but he handled it well. I don't remember hearing any booster issues but kids from rough neighborhood issues ( fights and drugs \ but that is everywhere).

I'd really love to have him. He has the kind of size/strength combo we don't really have much of in our current crop of WRs or upcoming recruits. We're have quite a few small speedy guys, and we're grabbing several more in the upcoming class--so it'd be nice to have someone like him to provide a bit of balance. Not that he doesn't have speed, as well.

Personally, I do not want this kid. He might be great but if he has off field issues and is not interested in academics then I can see big problems for him in his future. He seems to act like because he can play football the universities owe him something. I want a kid who realizes what a blessing and honor it is to play at tOSU.
I may want to eat my words if he goes on to become one of the great ones, but will all the people here who want him so badly do the same if he does come and is trouble?
I really do hope the best for this kid, and I hope he comes to his senses to realize he has been given a gift and he embraces that gift.
Funny thing is the player can go to college wherever he wants. Princeton, Yale. Harvard, Georgia Tech, etc........... what school would not want this prospect, regardless of anything.
Give me North over this kid any day... I'd like 2 of the following:

Stevens (if we could flip him)

I was absolutely talking about Green earlier. I had a few bourbons last night after talking about it earlier and got them mixed up. I don't think Foster will fit what OSU needs. This team needs to keep bringing in hard working players who don't have off field question marks, real or not. If that means turning away some top talents, so be it. I still believe in the guys OSU is currently talking to. Quick, Gibson and the kid of the hour, Timmons. I'd much rather have them who will probably respect the scholarship they get from OSU more than a ticket to the NFL.

fwiw --- Foster tore it up last night, in only 3 quarters: 6 receptions, 125 yards, 2 TDs
but, the yin & the yang: Foster only played 3 quarters because he was suspended for the 1st quarter for "disciplinary reasons". Could be something minor, he's a teenager, but still -- that's not something you want to hear from an OSU prospect whose visit here last Spring didn't go well.
He is a beast, though. He looks like he's put on about 10-12 lbs. of muscle this year, and he plays more aggressive & gets involved more in the pass-blocking game than before.

Might not even have room for him if we wanted him. Quick and Gibson are most likely in this class. That's 3 recievers plus Marshall.

If he's having disciplanary problems, I say give up on him. I remember a kid from Jeannette who got ina basketball brawl before coming to OSU and subsequently having a hand in ruining the face of the program.
I feel there is room for Derrick Green in the RB stable. The rash of injuries and the graduation of Hall means Green would have a shot. As the loss of Hyde proves, not having a big bruising back to burst up the middle can really slow down our offense. Of course, the staff may not have enough room for him and/or Green may want to go to a place where is is the 'only' one.

We're on probation... If the kid has a reputation of being a bad seed then he's not worth the risk.

I say we take R.Foster if he decides to come to tOSU because we need playmakers other than B.Miller .
The only thing WE have ever seen from Foster was his old heads tweets, from which he publically apologized. I've seen much worse (tweetwise) from other recruits and OSU commits (*cough cough Joey Bosa cough* although it was quickly deleted).
If he has OSU in his top three, there's obviously at least a little interest from the OSU side; they didn't tell him they weren't going to recruit him anymore (a la Green).
I would love to see him in S+G; however, I don't see it happening.
Something just seems overblown here. It is hard because we don't get any of the inside info, he did something that made them cool on him, but from what we have seen he is no the worst offender.
I hope he chooses OSU...we need playmakers and that he is. Screw it...if the pros is what he wants...lets get him there.

To be fair, I also remember a kid from Cleveland involved in a high school basketball brawl, and he subsequently came in, bought in, led one of the top teams in the country for two years and won a Heisman. Not every situation is cut and dried.
It'll be interesting to see if there really is mutual interest, or it's just one sided.

I like his highlights and his play on the field and would like him in this class but I would constatntly worry about him getting us in trouble
watched his game last Friday --- he dominated...I hope he's made full amends & he ends up a Buckeye. He still has time to mature. I think Quick is Louisville-bound...would be nice to get a another playmaker in this class, but the odds aren't real high right now that he ends up a Buckeye. We'll see though...I think his #1 choice all along has been OSU

I've been on the Foster bandwagon since I first saw his tape, kid is a beast, but all I ever read is no way Urb is going to let him commit. But Foster still wants to make an official visit. If he's not being considered why wouldn't they just pull his offer? Seems like since he "screwed up" during his unofficial visit he's been trying to make people believe academics are important to him. I believe he wants to be a buckeye. To the staff he may not be a considered Plan A right now, but I think he's plan B+. Kid has some issues, but don't we all !!!
