BN $ - 5-Star Safety Looking At Ohio State '14 TX DB Edward Paris

  • By BK...Coach Herman was by his school and says he will definitely look at OSU...wants to look into OSU's academics.

Lee Helping to Build Ohio State’s 2013 Class (The Ozone)

Going toe-to-toe with 4-star Georgia safety Vonn Bell, New Albany’s Darron Lee impressed the coaches so much during his camp visit in June that he gained an Ohio State offer and committed shortly after.

He is currently quarterbacking his high school team this season but will likely play in the defensive backfield for the Scarlet and Gray. Urban Meyer loves recruiting quarterbacks to play defensive back – remember Joe Haden, one of his best defensive backs at University of Florida, was also a high school quarterback.

Standing 6-3 and 205 pounds, Lee will be listed as an ATH when he comes to Ohio State. He has been a leader ever since his commitment and will likely come to many OSU football games this year to help assemble the 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes.

Darron recently took time to answer questions to help Buckeye fans get to know him better. You can start by following him on Twitter @DLeeMG8.

Barker Recaps Ohio State Visit (The Ozone)

We all know quarterbacks now play a bigger role in football than ever before. A good quarterback, as witnessed by last years Indianapolis Colts, can be the difference between a playoff team and a team with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft – which of course they used on a quarterback.

With few exceptions, your quarterback is your destiny.

So all eyes will be on Kentucky QB Drew Barker in the class of 2014. With J.T. Barrett on the way in the 2013 class, Ohio State will likely only take one QB in the class of 2014.

There are currently 4-5 targets on the board and the staff is discussing which ones to offer, but one name at the top of their list is Barker.

Standing 6-3 and 210 pounds out of Conner High School in Hebron, Ky., Barker is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation – something Meyer and his staff covet.

He is hoping to make his decision by summer 2013, but Barker already holds early offers from Cincinnati, South Carolina, Louisville and Illinois.

He visited Ohio State for the Miami (Ohio) game this past weekend and took time to share with The-Ozone how his recruiting experience, and the visit, are going.

WR Booth will make unofficial to OSU  (espn insider)

The next name to make an unofficial visit to Ohio State might ring a bell.

He’s coming to the Sept. 15 game against California and he’s arriving in Columbus with Ohio ties.

His name is Dominique Booth (Indianapolis/Pike) and he comes from a football family.

His uncle Issac played defensive back for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, his grandfather was an offensive lineman at Temple and his father Mark played wide receiver at Taylor University.

But Dominique could be the best of the bunch as the 2014 wide receiver already has offers from Cal, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Purdue and Wisconsin.

For anyone that doesn't read the Ozone article on Barker, I found this tidbit very interesting

Ozone: Did you receive an offer? If not, what did the coaches tell you as far as an offer?

Barker: They did not, but on ESPN All-Access, I was watching and paused it and there was board in the coaches area. On it was a list of QB prospects and I was No. 1 on the board. Hopefully they offer me and I have a vibe that they like me.

It would be really cool to see that frame and look at the list of qb's, glad to hear Barker was #1 back then, hopefully still is.

Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
