Recruit Report: Buckeyes are poaching on Pitt's turf
If the Pitt football program is to land a few of the top players in the WPIAL this season, it looks like its top competition might come from Ohio State.
Ohio State has signed nine players from the WPIAL since 2004, and recent recruiting news shows the Buckeyes again are in the hunt for a few top players in the district.
Central Valley's Robert Foster, ranked among the top receivers in the country, has narrowed his list of colleges to three -- Pitt, Ohio State and Alabama.
Belle Vernon offensive lineman Dorian Johnson had said before the season that Pitt and Ohio State were his top choices, but now he is considering Virginia Tech, too. Johnson committed to Penn State earlier this summer but changed his mind after the school was hit with NCAA sanctions.
Ohio State already has commitments from 17 players and reportedly will be able to take only 20 to 22. Will they have scholarships left for Johnson and Foster if the two wait months to make a decision?
Ohio State also has showed interest in Clairton receiver Tyler Boyd, but the Buckeyes have not offered him a scholarship. Pitt is one of Boyd's top schools. He made an unofficial visit to West Virginia this past weekend with Monessen quarterback Chavas Rawlins, who already has committed to the Mountaineers.

Pitt should be worried about Ohio State. They are already on the brink of irrelevancy, if they arent already there. If Ohio State takes too many of their highly rated local recruits they might just fall off the face of the Earth.
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
not sure why Pitt and Ohio State are even in the same thought. Western PA kids are going out of state whether Ohio State gets them or not. Pitt nabs the occaisional one but clearly they are irrelevant and have been for a while.
Do you think this guy helps Pitt land recruits?
Edit: Really? A downvote for crazy-eyes Mark May? Someone MAY-not have a sense of humor. Or you MAY-need to get out more. MAY-be.
@Tenn,
That reminds me of this http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/092196aaa.html
Ahh, good stuff :)
That shouldn't be a suprise for Williams, his teammate Terry is already committed to MSU
Sure would be nice to land Dorian. Can't believe Pitt is even being considered...
@RAZRBACK16 I say let him go to Pitt .. If he doesn't want to be a Buckeye let him go so we can get maybe 3 wr's or however he wants to finish out this class
That would be great to land both Foster and Johnson
