Hey guys, long time lurker, new poster here.
I'm a senior at tOSU and my girlfriend and I both have full season tickets grouped together. We went to the UCF and Miami games and are also going to several of the games later down the road. However, for the weekend of the Purdue game and the Illinois game, we're going to be out of town, and so we'd love to give our tickets to friends who are OSU fans but have never been lucky enough to enjoy the atmosphere of the shoe on gameday.
My question is: how strict are they about BuckIDs with student tickets? My best friends dad is a lifelong OSU fan and has always dreamed of going to the shoe, and I want to hook him and my best friend up with our tickets to the game. I'm just worried that they might make the trip down from cleveland, and then not be able to get into the stadium because his dad is in his late 40s and obviously wont look anything like the 23 year old on my BuckID.
Does the stadium staff care, or will they give them a hard time? What experiences with this or stories have you guys heard? Thanks so much and GO BUCKS!

Honestly it doesn't even seem like they're checking to see if anyone has BuckIDs this year.
Thanks for the reply, I have noticed the same thing. I'm just worried with how much his father will stand out that they might ask some questions. I've seen parents in the student section before, I just want to make sure it's a common sort of thing, so that they don't make the trip all the way down here for nothing.
This should clear up any questions. Taken from 2012 Student Football Ticket Info:
Wow, awesome. Thanks so much for that information!
In other words anyone can use any BickID...It's not like my sisters have my same last name anymore. I have 2 BuckID from when i was in college and my aunt and uncle just borrowed thenm for the UCF game. Haha...both were pictures of me and they passed.
"Anything less than flagrant is just playing grab ass!"
They don't check to thoroughly. If you show them the buck id with your thumb over the picture they will let you in. For the buyer it is better to get the student tickets and use a buck id, b/c of the 50% savings in ticket prices. What I did, I got another buck id. I said I lost my old one (which was total bs) and I got a new one. I used the new one for student stuff and when I sold tickets to friends and family members they used the buck id that "I lost". Both Men and Woman used my ID. Thumb trick is gold. Of course, I was just trying to hookup friends and family and get them tickets for cheap. Upgrades are ok, but after game #3 it gets a little hairy with price per ticket. I was fortunate, I had students that didn't like football so they bought me tickets. I had 4 tickets for each game. 2 were for friends and family, 2 were for me. I also used the upgrade another year, the upgrade is good if you don't want to go the buck id route. I used the upgrade for ebay, and they sold quickly. If you want more info email me. I was able to get all my friends and family into the Shoe for a game, while going to all the games, and making a little profit through ebay to pay for books.
Yep, just to add in that it doesn't matter who's BuckID you use, as long as you have one. They don't really check at all. I sold many student tickets last year and sold my BuckID (for the replacement fee) with them.
Like it clearly says u just need a Buck Id.....any buck ID...they havent even checked at all hardly this year
I've used a BuckID a couple times. Mostly fellow buddies but last season I snagged a girlfriends friends who happens to have long blonde hair while I rock and a brown buzzcut and a poor excuse of a beard. Long story short I've never had a problem but have always been told you can pay to have the ticket changed to general admission.
They've let me and my wife in before I had the cards out of the sleeve (yeah, I still use the sleeve, lol). Also, dependent ids are cheap and they're only good for picking up your tickets.
Has anyone ever been denied? I'm trying to buy Nebraska tickets, and most available are students, who are willing to lend buck IDs, but I would hate to be turned away at the gate for having someone else's buck ID...
No they won't deny you, or at least I've never heard of anyone being denied. They aren't even checking for BuckIDs this year, or at least they are barely doing it.
About the ushers hardly checking for BuckID's this season, I'm thinking maybe this is because there are more general public (non-student) seats in the South Stands during these first couple of games that aren't part of the B1G student package. My guess is that once these B1G games start and there are more student tickets, the ushers will start being a little more strict. Even if this is the case, as others have mentioned, any student ID will get you in the gates.
I was asked for a BuckID at the UCF game. It depends on who's checking you.

@NYCBUCKEYE- If the rules are the same this year as they have been the past 4 years (and I haven't heard anything different), they don't care who you are, just that you have a student BucKID with your student ticket. Daughter's friend who went to another school would come up for a game or two each year-he is 6'3" and blonde, used her roommate's BuckID-roommate is 5'1", female, and brunette. Hope you have a great time at the game. Should be fun.
As long as the person with a student ticket has any valid BuckID at all, they will be allowed in. It doesn't matter if it is their ID or not. If you don't trust them enough to give them your ID, you can upgrade your tickets at the Schott to eliminate the BuckID requirement.
Thanks guys..
