I think it will be the highest we've seen in awhile. Obviously, there's the priority of keeping Braxton from running himself into the training room, and there's the limited RB depth with the Hyde injury & Hall probably still isn't 100%, so OSU may throw it more than they have in the past few seasons.
Urban still wants to see Braxton & the receivers prove themselves, too.
Miller's had 24 pass attempts for each of the first two games of this year, and his career-high is 25 against Michigan last year.
Even if OSU is up on Cal by a few scores, (which I think they will be throughout the whole game), I still see OSU throwing the ball the majority of the time.
I'll say the Over/Under is 34 1/2. I'll take the Over. I'm guessing Braxton goes 24 for 37 for 286 yards & 3 TDs

I'm going with the UNDER at about 30...
I'm taking under probably closer to 25-30 range for over 200 yards and a couple TD's
Under is easy money here.
Not a chance over. I'll be suprised to see more than 20. Cal usually always has a talented secondary.

yes, I think I did set that O/U too high...was basing off my 37...for some reason the number 37 came into my head

I'll go under, say 23-26 range...think it'll be much of the same on offense with a few new wrinkles. I'd expect to see alot of ball control passing, quick hitters which are going to in effect be "runs" by our perimeter guys. I'll guess Philly and Devin will see quite a few screens on Saturday but just a hunch.

I guess it you are talking actual attempts, I'll say under. I think he THROWS around 24-27 passes.
However, the number of called pass plays may be much closer to 34. I think the number of sacks and runs out of called pass plays could push it up over 30.
I will say this, I think Braxton gets over 250 passing yards this weekend and hits a couple of deep balls. I also think we could see a short screen/hitch/slant go for big yards against this D.
under.
Meyer is trying to build the Team's mentality, example of trying to get the D-line to win 1-1 battles and not have to rely on blitz. Urban, I hope, knows that he needs a running game out of this team, by players not wearing #5.
Cal's defense is determined to stop the run but will leave a lot of one-on-one matchups with receivers so I expect something like 35 passes from braxton
I would be surprised if Braxton does not set a new career high for pass attempts and (hopefully) completions. Urban's offense is predicated on a numbers game, and when the defense stacks the box (as Cal's 46 defense will almost all the time), his philosophy dictates that we throw the ball as our receivers should be able to beat their man.
It would be foolish to try to pound the ball over and over if the defense has you overloaded with numbers. We will run the ball some, but we will be focused on the pass this week, I think.
Also, I have a feeling that Jordan Hall will play much more than many expect him to this week.
