New high powered offense with 7 points against UAB in the first half..UAB!!!! This team has developed a trend to come out slow and sluggish in the begging of every game this year.
look at it this way..first off ohio state has played a pretty meh non confrence schedule..all at home noon games..theyre sleep walking through this one looking ahead to michigan state while uab is traeting this like a bowl game..on top of that the staff is pretty much treating this like a scrimmage..trying out diffrent things and putting some major schackles on braxton..i wouldnt read too much into the first half
Well i like college and i like football...and im gunna keep doin em both cause they make me feel good!!!
You could look at it that way but Urban wants his guys to supposedly be playing non stop 100% on every play for 60 mins. Sleep walking during games is a good way to get beat during conference play by a team that comes prepared.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Complete Doo Doo butter. The defense can't tackle, Braxton couldn't hit the side of a barn and they did nothing to establish a running game. Not to mention the fact we were putrid on special teams. Poor kick off coverage, blocked punt and Buchanan can't punt the ball further than 35 yds. I am just disgusted so far. I really bought into the preseason hype. I really thought we would have a prolific offense and a stingy defense. Instead it's basically a repeat of last year so far. An inept offense and a porous defense. If the bigten wasn't so god awful I'd be really worried about conference play. We should have dump trucked everyone on our schedule so far. Easily the most disappointing 4-0 team that I can remember.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
Completely disappointing!!!!! I'm not sure who overhyped this team but they aren't very good. This is an 8-4 team. I can't see us going undefeated or winning 10 games. I'm hoping the coaching staff is being very discrete and not opening up the playbook, but the first 4 weeks have been very disappointing.
a team full of pansies. I dont care if Hank or Simon "get in the backfield" if they dont hit the QB, stop the run behind the line, or get a sack they are useless. Its sad when we get excited that our LBs actually tackled someone (even when that play went for 10 yards already). DBs are just flat out weak. Luckily for them, this week they just have to worry about getting run over by Bell instead of covering anyone.
I was thinking the same thing Cajun...and I like MenEX...hope you're right.

The reality is this... The media and fan base overhyped this team just because Urban was brought in as the head coach. This is a transitional year with the players learning new schemes (with the exception of D). It isn't going to be pretty and we aren't going to run the score up on teams like Urban did at UF. The players he recruited last year, this year, and the 2014 recruits are going to make the teams that blow people out by 40 each week. It is going to take some time. I want to see us dominate now just like everyone else, but I don't believe it is going to happen. I'd like to see us at least go 9-3 with a win over scUM.
They are going to have a winning season, that's better than last year. I like the offense, it's fast, no huddle, and they are going to average 30 points per game. Much better than the slow drawn out offensive crap Tressel had us doing! I wish we had a good running back other than the quarterback - we used to have the cream of the crop at that position! I do like the fact Urban is using these warm up games to try some stuff other than running Braxton Miller to death for nothing. If the only thing a decent defense has to do is to stop our quarterback (which is Michigan's problem with Robinson), we'd be through for sure - because our defense needs an awful lot of work. Where did these guys learn to tackle? Anyway, the rest of the conference is pretty lame so we'll do well this season. Since we can't play in a Bowl or the Big 10 title game, what better time to get the kinks out of the system. All in all I like what I see!

I agree. I am enjoying seeing this type of football from our Buckeyes. It is hellafun to watch and get excited for. The downside is that it is all new for these guys. I definitely think folks were buying into the crazy Vegas line of 36.5 points (or whatever crazy number it finally ended being), us fans included.
I am not accepting mediocre for the season, but I am tempering my expectations.
They are about what I expected. I did think the defense would be better. I said 9-3 at the begining of the year. If the Big Ten was not so terrible I would guess 8-4, 7-5.
That's putting it nicely! Wow!
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
Be glad we don't have ul-monroe on the schedule.

I just hope this doesn't steer recruits in a different direction..it will all fall into place eventually, or at least I hope..
Cam Burrows just tweeted "I wish OSU would play more man to man."
And that's coming from the leader of our class. Not good.

I'd like to see more quick hitting pass plays when the offense starts to stagnate/can't get a 1st down to save their life.
