Sparty has a good running game, but nothing to complement it in the air (it could develop, but it's not there now). Their D is pretty good, but ND's O is pretty good - Sparty O needs to get something going to keep their D from getting worn down. ND's D is improved and isn't aweful, but their not great. Both teams are ultimately just a little better than average...
I think it's fair to say Sparty misses Kirk Cousins. He was a pretty good QB who gave that O the chance to make people pay on play action and vertical plays- the constrants you need to hit to make a power running game work.
[Edit: Sorry, too slow, meant the second one up. Although Cousins was/is a bit overrated, he was competent and consistent and could make play-action work]
This is the one year where I wish we weren't the best team in the B1G, we really are...O'Brien at Wisconsin? Are there QB recruits so bad that he can come in and start day 1?
I don't know if we'd lose worse. Cal finally put a game together today. Our D and O had their issues today, but Cal came to play and didn't have a lot of break downs. The ones they had were promptly taken advantage of.
D and O has had their issues all year. At some point we have to realize Urban is going to need more than a partial offseason to whip these guys into shape. He may have made them more in shape but they've proven they don't have the football part figured out yet. Not one gam ebut three games against lower level opponents.
Who is the upper level opponent we'll play? Michigan State is probably the best the B1G has to offer, maybe Purdue or Northwestern lol. Not exactly any "upper level" opponents on the schedule this year.
New staff and offense, it's going ot take this team a while to figure everything out. That's why I've said people who think we'll go 12-0 are nuts. There's going to be a game where playing like they did yesterday bites them in the ass.
For looking aweful they are winning...
Their first drive didn't start out so well. They've been dominating since.
I think notre dame is playing pretty good...their defense looks fast.
Wow, Dantonio comes off as an asshole.
That's because Dantonio is an asshole, but his D got us a national championship. Respect.
I really can't believe how underwhelming Sparty is this year. Or is Notre Dame really this improved?

Jason: I say it's both. ND is a pretty good team and MSU has no offense outside of Bell.

Yeah seems about right.

Sparty will lose. Stanford I'm not so sure, looking good at this point though.

Cousins was a fairly mediocre QB in my mind. Nothing special.

Mediocre, perhaps. But, he was good in the offense they had, compared to their current model.
Wisconsin struggling with small programs again. Wow.

The B1G is looking incredibly weak this year.
Don't look now, but Stanford just went up over USC. Helluva play, too.
Stanford yes!!!!

I predicted 2 losses for USC this might be the first one tonight.

At least if we go undefeated we won't have to feel shafted for not making the NCG because our conference sucks...

Given Stanford's quarterback's skillset, shouldn't it be Stanford, oui?
Stanford plays GROWN MAN football!

USC's O-line shit their pants there.
Loved every minute of that! That was Truely an impressive performance. Well looks like the Alabama vs USC title game is out the window.

Is the B10 really this bad? Michigan State's qb throws a two yard pass on 4th and 6 with 5 minutes left? You can't even try for a first down?
@SavannahBuck It's like watching the Browns from last year...

Anyone that pushes us into the top ten didn't watch what I watched... we play Stanford and/or ND and we lose worse...
