Those would certainly be 3 fantastic players.  I would add Dorian Johnson.

I've read we have room for about 4-5 more...

Bell

Mitchell

Gibson

North or Quick

Johnson

Once we get Bell to a game, I think we become the leader.  Definitely have to watch how UT finishes out their season.  If they suck, I think Bell becomes a Buckeye.

Ha that is a pipedream....at least ALL 3 of those guys

I think you have the best shot with Mitchell....then Bell...slim pickings with North, although if the visit happens it's one to see how it develops....

I still maintain Worley, Munger, Gibson, Mitchell are 18, 19, 20, and 21...i think they might be able to take 22 and that is the spot you hold for Bell....of course if Munger/Gibson don't have the grades/scores or what not, that changes some things and you have Ryan Timmons and other prospects of the liking to go after...of course, Charlie Strong could leave Louisville meaning James Quick becomes a very real possibility...I still think Dorian Johnson is Pitt for not but another one to watch

Based on that previous BuckShot, it seems like Bell has a better relationship with Meyer than any other coach.  Though Tennessee is his childhood favorite team, I like our chances with Meyer and Bell "hitting it off from the start".

Seems like all Michell needs is a visit to seal the deal; even if his dad has been giving him static about OSU, Urban is a master at wooing the parent and not just the kid, so I think we land him, as well.

We'll probably score both Gibson and one of North, Quick (which will happen if Strong goes to Arkansas), Allen or Timmons.  Sounds like we're getting an OV from Foster, but I still think he's < 5%.

I don't think we get Johnson; it sounds like he's a big fan of Pitt, and Chryst has Wisconsin's OL coach--they put linemen in the NFL like nobody's business.

*EDIT: Alex beat me to the punch haha.

@Alex... Any guys out there we have a serious chance of flipping? and why is Worley taking so long to commit?  He's got to know if Bell commits his spot is pretty much gone right?

Anybody know about Worley from Glenville?  I read somewhere that he may be close to committing.  I know I'm a homer.  I think it's even more special when an Ohio kid earns it and committs...that way, I'm rooting for kids who grew up in my neck of the woods.  Don't get me wrong -- I'm happy to take in any dedicated out of state Buckeyes.

strong isnt going to arkansas, he has turned them down twice already, he will be at louisville for at least two more years as a promise to his qb, this is according to some diehard louisville fans i work with, i asked them last night and thats what they told me. strong has no interest in arkansas. imo i do see him some day stepping up to a higher profile job, just dont think it will be any time soon. what this has to do with quick, i have no clue.

@BUCKEYESTU - You're probably right, but after watching Nick Saban with 'Bama and Brian Kelly with Notre Dame, I've learned to always be cautious with what a coach says during the season compared to their attitude afterwards.  If he does turn them down, though, I wonder if they go after Malzahn?  It would be his second time there, after his failed one-year stint with Mustain.

Every coach always says they're staying put in order to keep the fan base happy and keep the recruits interested just in case they don't get the job they hoped for.  You have to wait until the end of the year and see what openings will be available.  Never take a coach for their word.

@BUCKEYE_IN_SEC_COUNTRY - That's why I'll always respect the Hell out of Glen Mason.  When Cooper was fired in 2000, he told his team from the getgo that he was going to go after the job, since it was his alma mater.  Once Tressel got the job over him, he had a team meeting, and asked them if they were still okay with him being their coach--he wanted their blessing.  Now that is class.

Compare that to Brian Kelly, where he vehemently denied going after and wanting the ND job, then took it, and had his star player--the kid who was basically his son, whom he promised was staying at Cincinnati--literally walk out of the awards banquet.

you both are very right, coaches say one thing and do another usually. i was just reporting my conversation with some very serious louisville fans, from work last night, thats all.

Coaches lie. Coaches tell half-truths. Coaches tell people what they want to hear. Coaches break promises.

I'm not saying Strong is going anywhere, but no one, especially not the UofL fans can be certain he is staying put. Do you know how many coaches have said they aren't leaving and then left? I know Strong has a soft spot in his heart for UofL because they gave him his first opportunity as a HC, but if they remain in the Big East the ceiling for the program is only so high. Sure they can go to a BCS bowl if they win their conference, but once the playoff goes into effect, good luck getting in the top 4.

This made me curious about Mason's career at Minnesota versus their other coaches.  First of all, it seems like they haven't been terribly relevant since the 60s.  Since the 60s, it appears that Mason has easily been the most successful coach at Minnesota.  They should rehire him.

EDIT:  He even took them to bowl games in 7 of 10 seasons, and he was 3-4 in those games!

@BASSPLAYER - Yeah, Minnesota brass totally overreacted following his loss to Texas Tech where they blew a monster lead.  I guarantee you that they'd do things differently had they known what hiring Timmy Brewster would do to their program haha.

i do think coach strong stays at the uofl until teddy is done playing.

Minnesota NEVER should've fired Mason. I think Minny was looking for a reason to say goodbyre to Mason and the bowl game with Texas Tech where they blew the lead is what they used. They got rid of him and brought in Tim Brewster, which was a colossal mistake.
