Simon Head and shoulders above Williams. All big ten first team, 3rd team all American. Stayed healthy his whole career, played everything from D tackle to SSend to Leo. Williams was pretty good when he wasnt hurt, not the impact or production Simon has given though.
I'll opine...John Simon is the most relentless effort guy that I have ever seen...he is a huge asset to the locker room...he's blue collar. But, I'll be damned if there isn't something about NW...I can't pinpoint exactly what it is...somebody posted earlier about how Williams is not quick enough, but the guy just explodes. He had an almost strip earlier in the game today. Looking at the stat line, neither is impressive. I just hope to see domination from both!
Boths beasts - Simon just a bit more of the huge, mean, rugged type. Nate a bit more sleek, quick, quieter type. If they were cats then Simon is a lion & Williams is a leopard. I like em both & think if Nate had stayed healthy through his career - he could have put up record sack numbers..
The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Before last season started I probably would have went with Williams, but after his injury and Simon's emergence as a leader, it's without a doubt John Simon.
I like Simmon but some one NEEDS to take the DEF. to Tackeling 101. To many guys where going for the show stopping nockem out there shoes hit and missed, then the classic hit, stickem and rap tackel these guys got to think about it. The number of tackels made get you to the NFL not the show time sticks. There is one thing though you can show time stick someone and rap also better chance at causing a fumble anyways.
One Last thing can we please get some bumping of the line on the wide outs. Free releasesis makeing things to easy for other teams to catch passes.
I think NW is a more natural type player for the NFL but Simon is a better college player. NW has the body type to naturally play on Sundays whereas Simon is a bit undersized
I'd take Big Hank over either. Of Williams and Simon, I'd say that Simon gives better effort and is more sound fundamentally, but Williams has the higher ceiling.
I was actually gonna look and see if I was right on that, but it seems rivals has Williams at 6'5'' and Simon and 6'3'' and the OSU roster has them at 6'3'' and 6'2''. So I guess it could be anywhere from 1'' to 3''? I just feel like Williams is more natural and Simon is more of a worker. Both can succeed but Willams just seems more to have "it" and Simon works so hard for "it"
He's def not 6'5", I could tell you that much. I think they both have the "it" factor you refer to. Simon has just stayed healthy and had a more productive career. Nate has always been more about "what could've been" for him..great potential but never really "blew up" due to injury and all that.
Williams had NFL written all over him a couple yrs ago but now who knows if he can even finish this yr? Simon will get his chance in the league and if history is any indication, he will work his ass off to prove he can make a difference.

It would've been interesting to see Nathan William's career had he stayed injury free.
Help is on the way.
Williams missed a huge tackle for loss that would have stopped one of the huge runs.
Can we make it Simon vs. Williams in a streetfight? I suppose I'd still have to take Simon.
Simon all day long. On the field, or in a street fight.

Simon. Football field, street fight, battlefield, zombie apocalypse.
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches

Simon this year is Williams two years ago.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
Would love to see either one lined up at mlb just once.

Simon really is only an inch shorter than Nate and probably has 10-15 pounds on him.

Williams vs. Simon? The universe will rip apart.

"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
We need more production from both. To much rah rah and not enough tackles.
