This is interesting. I wonder why this is just coming out? I guess everyone just assumed since there was a post-season ban that we wouldn't be eligible to win the division. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in USC's case, I thought they were not even eligible to win the Pac-10/12 when they had their post-season ban?
We can win our division, but we can't go to the title game. I guess we had never heard that we would be officially given a trophy or declared Division Champion, but no one would be able to take away the fact that we would have the best record in our division regardless of an official title. Much like no one can take away the Sugar Bowl win, I watched it. It happened. Officially are we Sugar Bowl champs? I guess not, but it happened, we witnessed it. This seems like it is kind of the deal here, but just a little more official.
Regardless it will be weird if the division champion isn't represented in the title game, so I am a little surprised that the conference would allow this officially. But if it adds a little more motivation to the team, great!
Ohio State will win the Leaders division thereby forcing the B1G to send the divisions SECOND PLACE TEAM to the conference championship game in December. What a perfect way to say "F you Jim Delany"...
No need to punish twice for the same offense. The B1G share of the title was already vacated from 2010. However, I'm sure someone in the NCAA will have sand in his shorts over this lol.
I'm interested to see what urban's going to say about this. Is there any chance he was aware of this loophole if I can call it that? Interesting to say the least.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
If the Buckeyes win the division, John Simon should travel to Indy for the BTCG press conference and start raising hell.
Annoyed by the interruption and Simon's audicity, Dantonio yells at Simon,"Why don't you get the hell out of there?"
Simon yells back:
Shut up, Old Man! I ain't goin' nowhere. Why don't you tell all these nice folks why you been duckin' me? Politics, man. This country want to keep me down. Keep everybody weak. They don't want me to have the title because I'm not a puppet like them fools up there.
I thought that a post season ban was just that, a post season ban. To me that wouldn't include a regular season divisional championship. What i've been hoping for is for State Penn to have a good season so the B1G will have a 1st place Legend team and a 3rd place Leaders team in the B1G game in Indy. Fun Times folks.
Honestly, who cares. I mean, woohoo you can get a trophy for being division champ, but that's all you can get. Still can't go on to win the conference title game. I think the team would of been plenty motivated to destroy the conference just to make a point that hey, we are better than you, and the NCAA/BCS can suck it because you are getting an inferior squad going to the Rose Bowl than THE Ohio State University. That's why I never understood those worried about having nothing to play for.

So now they have something to play for.

This is excellent!
Interesting...
UFM has the motivation he needs to get this team pumped up now. This is great news!
"if irony were made of strawberries, we' d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."
