I'd rather see someone on the defense have a breakout game...don't get me wrong though, I'd settle for a Michael Thomas breakout game. He's got the tools to be a David Boston-type in my opinion.
I think he'll be good in the long run, but right now he isn't as effective as Devin Smith, Philly Brown, Evan Spencer, or Stoney playing out the WR spot. And he doesn't block as well as any of them.
I think the kid will be a real asset down the line and will get more catches as the year goes on, but he's not going to supplant any of those guys at this point in his career.
Considering he hasn't played much at all this year and this might be the first week Jordan Hall and Carlos Hyde are on the field together there may be more situations where Hall is in the slot decreasing one more back/receiver spot available. I wouldn't count on it. But I'd be happy for anyone to have some kind of breakout game.
I think they will run 5 wide a lot against MSU because I don't see them being able to run it very well and it would open up the field for Braxton. Thomas is under the radar right now compared to Stoney, Brown, Spencer, etc. It could happen.

Yes caught the "here" thanks professor. I believe they have held some things back on offense. Let's just see if I am correct or not.
