The Detroit Free Press news article he's referring to is in Buckshots (May We Suggest a DVR?). Reports are now coming out that Gene Smith and the MSU AD worked it out and a complaint was never filed with the B1G.
First crying about recruiting, now crying about not seeing pre-play hand-signals/motions. MSU better get used to losing, or start finding reasons to win rather than excuses for losing.
Before the commercial break they were acting like it was going to be some big off-the-field controversy, but when they actually talked about it, they stayed on the topic for about 5 seconds and just thought it was silly. There's no need to demonize ESPN about it, just laugh at Sparty instead.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Jesse Palmer actually made light of the "doctored" video stuff and said something to the effect of 'Regardless of that, it's still Michigan State's job to beat Ohio State.'
This wasn't even ESPN that dug this up...it came from the Detroit Free Press. ESPN simply reported that story. And as Tennbuckeye said, they pretty much blew it off and didn't make it an issue.
@BME_Buckeye, "Narduzzi told the Free Press that Ohio State cut off pre-snap motions and shifts before plays on film of its four games prior to Saturday’s 17-16 OSU win at Spartan Stadium."
I'm shocked that our Buckeyes would do such a thing, especially since this was the only chance Michigan State had to see what we do prior to the snap--you know, since our games are never televised.
Robert Flores AKA Eddie Munster was really excited to report this garbage claim, as he teased it before the commercial by saying Ohio State won, but their was "controversy" off the field. But, Jesse Palmer rightly blew it off as MSU being petty.
so this somehow wasnt an issue BEFORE the game, you know, when you're actually trying to use the tape. but, after you win the turnover battle 3-0, and STILL lose because you got beat up so completely in the trenches all day, then it becomes an issue. definition of sour grapes.
i will still root for State from here on out because of what dantonio did for OSU, but it becomes harder every year.

ESPN did NOT come out with this story. It was first reported by the DFP, and picked up by ESPN and several other news outlets...yet as usual, we try to vilify ESPN as if somehow they are the ones to blame. This is getting old...
Of course ESPN would mention it, but at least they didn't try to let that be an excuse for MSU.
Class of 2010.
What was the actual claim? It was surface level only.

Anything to slander OSU. Keep it coming ESPiN.
Desmond Howard will report on the morality issues at 10:15

Sounds like sour grapes. Maymbe Msu Staff was stomed when watching the film.

doctored meaning?

Something to do with pre snap reads...it was really nothing.

Sounds like its a non issue according to twitter

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
And when ESPiN misses a chance to attack Ohio State, you know for certain it wasn't a big deal.
The little pig cried all the way home.

"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
They mentioned it again on Sportscenter a second ago. Anything to make a story out of nothing, ESPiN!

if MSU wins this game, this story never comes out. Its ridiculous IMO. ESPN should just stop being crap.
Buckfutter, very well put. I feel the same way.
Dantonio has used up all his tOSU karma, as far as I'm concerned.
...and Narduzzi is a little, whiny, excuse-making douche!

Elevating Sec Preference Nationally sucks. The only thing that is getting old is their B1G bias

Yea, it's only ESPN that is on the SEC's nuts.
Cant they just watch CBS?
