He really wanted to beat Urban. Bad enough to send a player back in who'd been knocked out cold during the game. My opinion of him has taken a sharp nose dive this past year and a half. We turned the ball over 3 times and they still lost. At home. Wallow in misery Spartan fans. You deserve it after chanting "he's a pussy" at our QB after a dirty, late hit from one of your players.

Dantonio - He's a p#ssy

He wanted that game bad.  He didn't get it.

I actually do my best coaching from a barstool, no armchair for me. I watched the replay. Pay attention away from the ball and especially the edge of the piles. Something new, not at all. Gholston sets the tone with the tackle of Miller out of bounds on the very first drive, by riding up on him and taunting. Can't go anywhere but down from there. All in all a good hard knockin' contest, with a good dose of poor sportsmanship from Sparty and his fans.

Mark Dantonio is a Buckeye wannabe.  He’s from El Paso, TX and he played his college ball at South Carolina.  Tressel held his hand as the Buckeye DC and most likely designed the entire defensive scheme. 
Dantonio is the kind of guy who should coach at a Michigan college – he’s not real talented, he doesn’t have much class, and his team plays dirty – classic credentials for a head coach of any team from Michigan. 
Dantonio’s guys hit Braxton after he was out of bounds almost every time he went out of bounds - and the refs never called it once.  The only person with less class than Dantonio is Bobby Petrino (recently fired from Arkansas).
 

@DBradford agree with Cincy. Hes not from El Paso he was born there. He grew up in Zainesville. He is a very talented coach

How can you say Michigan State doesn't play dirty when they already have the film from the SCUM game last year? They did the same stuff yesterday; questionable late hits, eye gouging in the piles, and of course the combination of Gholston "getting the wind knocked out of him" and his obligatory personal foul that he commits every single game. Now, Dantonio might not be the guy teaching them that stuff, but someone is, and he isn't stopping it. That is just as bad.

Glad we feel similar toward each other's posts. Since we're having a nice heart to heart and you've told me how you feel about me (before you edited it out), here's how I feel about you: you're an arrogant (incredibly misplaced imo), holier than thou, pud who seems to get his jollies off by trying to correct other folks anytime you feel it convenient in any given thread when you don't agree with them. IMO, you bring nothing to this board in terms of value and I'm glad to hear you don't see eye to eye with me on a lot of things. If that were the case, it would force me to re-think my positions on such subjects given my low opinion of you.

I appreciate that you're trying to now redirect your failed question and answer game earlier by now pointing it back to Ohio State...again in a failed manner because yeah, taunting is the same thing as trying to poke someone's eye out <extreme sarcasm>! If one of our guys was shown doing that other fanbases would rightfully call us dirty. I would expect a significant penalty in such an instance.

In the future I'd recommend not posing questions to the board you don't think they can answer if you're not ready for someone to step up and slap it down right in front of you. But you go on just deflecting and trying to say that that's not what you meant despite it being right there in your quote.

I see a new era has begun at Eleven Warriors. With the new up and down vote system, people are just retaliating at others in the heat of an argument. This is exactly NOT what was intended, I'm sure.

But it is funny.

The voting system was put in place to encourage thoughtful commenting and to avoid the whole "being a jerk thing" that both you and Cincy just demonstrated in spades.  If you disagree with someone, say so and be done with it.  the personal attacks, even if warranted, are not necessry and bring nothing to the conversation.

I guess posting your opinion on here means you really want criticism...interesting!

I grew up in Zanesville too, so I know Dantonio cruised through there at some point in time.  Big deal!  My point was as a former Buckeye Assistant coach, he could have showed a little more class after the game.  I didn't expect him to plant one on Urban's lips but he could have walked over and shook his hand like coaches are supposed to do without ignoring him and making Urban hunt him down to get a handshake out of him.  Using the analogies posted on here, that doesn’t seem very representative of how a true former “OSU” man would act!

I feel Dantonio's players hit Miller late multiple times hoping to knock him out of the game.  I didn't see the eye gauging incident but it wouldn't surprise me.  It's my opinion that Michigan State and Michigan both play us dirty.  I could care less if anyone agrees with me, especially you Cincy. 

Furthermore, I am a diehard Buckeye fan and have been my entire life.  Don't lump me into some category that you think means “I'm the kind of OSU fan that people don't like” - who are you to decide what an OSU fan should say and do?  You know nothing about me Cincy! 
 

What Michigan State was doing yesterday, was trying to intimidate Braxton and the Buckeyes. They were taking some cheap shots for sure.  Repeatedly they were making contact out of bounds etc.  They are basically trying to be the college version of the Ravens or Steelers.  I've seen similar kinds activity from Bama or LSU as well.  They play with a nasty streak and want that reputation.  Is it MSU culture to be dirty?  I don't know, but I can see how some would view it that way.  You don't need to be a homer or think there's a conspiracy against Ohio State to have that opinion. 

I don't like Dantonio at all, and I don't much care if he was the D coordinator here 10 years ago.  We can recognize his part of that team and also not like the guy. I thought his attempt at a handshake was funny, and imagine he'll get used to disappointment the next few years against Ohio State and Meyer.  

It'll be interesting to see how good of a coach he is now that Michigan is recruiting their state and Ohio much better than they were during the Dickrod days.  He'll be coaching lesser talent soon, we'll see if MSU can still have double digit win seasons. 

There are definitely fans that make me shake my head, but I don't understand why thinking Dantonio is a dick and MSU takes cheap shots makes you a delusional conspiracy theorist Ohio State fan.  I also don't think, simply because someone has the opinion that MSU isn't that dirty and they are just a hard hitting physical team that they are an idiot.  

Sometimes being that physical team that hits hard ends with over enthusiasm and some cheap shots.  Ohio State certainly takes some shots at other teams that would come off very dirty to other fans too.  We can all have a valid opinion here right???

Bradford - Pile one you? I wrote TWO sentences. But now that you mention it...way to show the ability to be objective with that Michigan line.

Anyone else think Coach Dantonio gave D.BradfordII an atomic wedgie and maybe a couple of swirlies at good ol Zanesville High?  Pent up hostilities here!

I appreciate Dantonio's time with OSU and his part in the National Championship in 2002. I think he's a good coach and he's had success. But since he has been at MSU I have not been a fan of the guy, plain and simple. I don't think he kills kittens or anything. I don't wish ill-will on the guy, I just don't like him.
