Braxton's projected numbers

Might be a little silly to do this after 2 games, but what the heck.

216-284 for 2172 yards passing, 18 TD's and 6 INT's

264 rushed for 1812 yards and 24 TD's.

Obviously I don't expect him to average 22 rushing attempts per game, but until Hall and Hyde are healthy he will be asked to run quite a bit.

Nice start Braxton, keep it rolling.

Nice.  Tim Tebow's Heisman numbers in 2007 for comparison:

13 350 234    66.9    3286    9.4          32     6    172.47    26.9   252.8

Rushing
G   Att   Yards Avg.   TD   Att/G     Yards/G
13 210   895   4.26   23    16.15       68.85

He won't average that many carries you are correct, or he will get injured at somepoint. But if he did put up those numbers 1800 yds rushing and 2000 yds passing, he would have to be in the heismen race. But that won't happen this year, he still hasn't shown he can pass that well at times this year so he needs another year to work on that. I would rather see him pass for 3k+ and rush for 800-1000 yards I think that is more what Meyer wants him to do. I think he can Rush for 1000 yards only carrying it 150 times or less also.

I'm drinking the kool aid with this team's possibility of going 12-0 with what we're seeing from B1G.  However, Braxton can put the ball on a rope to D.Smith before he goes on his break as he did in a drive in the second half (which was a helluva pass btw).  Or he can throw off his back foot and float the ball on a marginal deep pass for an INT.  Not this year guys...he keeps running like this and he'll get in the Heisman talk at years end...if he's still alive.  I can see a couple of games with him getting into the lower 20 carries (Indiana and Purdue/Penn St).  If he does that every game...I fear he'll get hurt and this team isn't nearly as good without him.  Not sure stats or possibility of a Heisman are a good trade off for no post season play...they go 12-0...that's good enough for me.  Let the Heisman come to Braxton next year because of how good the playmakers will be around him.  They'll be many more coming as well as Philly and the WRs just lighting it up due to defenses not being able to account for so many skilled athletes.  As I love this year and I'm happy it's here...next year will be the year to watch Braxton do his thing.

This is a question I have always wondered with QB's who have a lot of good weapons around them like tim tebow. He had so many guys around him like harvin, hernandez and everyone else, to me that takes a little away from the QB and his stats. If you throw a 5 yard pass to harvin but he is so good he breaks it for 70 yard TD is that really a 70 yd TD pass no the WR did all the work. That is what I wonder for next year, when braxton does get better weapons like Marshall, throwing easier short passes and let WR beat guys. Does that necessarly make him a better QB or any QB for that matter? I know good QB's make WR's better but in Meyers system isn't it all about just getting them the ball and letting them make plays. What I am asking is Say braxton puts up 2000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing this year. And next year he gets Marshall, Philly brown steps up and he Throws for 3000 Yards and 1000 yards rushing. To me that 1000 yards is probably becuase of the WR making plays not Braxton being that much better. Not saying this is right or wrong just wanting people thoughts. Thats why I didn't think tebow was so amazing he had a boat load of guys that made him look good, he made easy throws in college and let harvin, hernandez make plays. Thats not his fault that is just how Meyers offense works.

Good points all around.

The offense is Braxton at this point, especially without Hyde.  He will put of big numbers the next 2 weeks and then hopefully Hall and Hyde will be back to take some of the pressure off of Miller.

He is certainly used to carrying an offense, but at this level injury has to be the biggest concern.

If he gets those numbers Hand him the Heisman.  I think his rushing numbers are going to drop off and his Passing numbers are going to pick up as the season continues.

Tebow's passing numbers were padded pretty well by having Percy Harvin turn every other short little screen pass into a 80 yard touchdown. We don't really have that type of guy yet.
