^Last year I was eating at Sloopy's with my girlfriend at something like 2 in the morning. Braxton, Posey, Herron and Howard walk in and sat down next to us. Herron and Braxton asked me for some menus and I muttered something incomprehensible about "not having any menus." My girlfriend just laughed and gave them our extra menus. I was sweating like a b*tch and was nervous as Hell during the whole exchange. It was so pathetic and my gf still gives me shit about it haha.

@ William

Bumping into the "student-athletes" never gets old. I remember the time when:

- I was taking Kinesiology and we were turning in our exams and this  massive human walks next to me. Turns out, it was John Simon. I was startled by how big he was. In the same class, I was shocked by how smart Aaron Craft (ask good question) was and much our prof singled him out because he liked the basketball team.

-I was crossing 11th ave right where Neil meets and watching Terrel Pryor almost hit a woman in his car in slow motion.

-I went to O patio and saw Mike Adams drinking like crazy

-I went to Buckeye Donuts and watched, Corey "ugly as hell" Linsely eat nearly three meals by himself during Woodfest

-Adam Homan was my one of my lab partners for severa labs this past spring quarter and I got a lot of time to ask him things about the football team. This was probaby my best experience in regard to student athletes. Extremely smart kid.

-Most of the football team jumped in Mirror Lake with us while another portion stood back.

-After we beat Wisconsin; we celebtrated at Delta Chi (smashing the Wisconsin car) and Fiji then walked back to South Campus. Along the way back to Neil, I'll never forget seeing  Johnathan Hankins hugging an entire tree, being hammered/stumbling, and calling his mom on the phone.

I went to Brothers winter quarter my senior year in 2004\5. Place was dead as dead could be but I notice a large, well built older man with two very attractive young girls and a 4th guy who made said first guy look like a midget.

I walked to the bathroom and walked past where these 4 people were playing pool turned and almost stared the 4 down. I went back to my table and my girlfriend at the time asked me who I was glaring at. "I wasn't glaring, I was looking. That was Eddie, I just wanted to make sure". So she asked why I didn't talk to him-I didn't want to bug him while he was out. She said, "No no, lets go". I figured, great, the last thing this dude wants is another star struck idiot coming up mumbling to himself, or worse, 2 more girls to throw themselves at him.

My girlfriend worked for the football team as a recruiting hostess so over the course of 4 years she met a lot of ex players. She walked up to him with another girl Liz and myself and said hello. She said she had met him at a few games, he claimed to remember. Well when our friend Liz introduced herself, Eddie turned to one of the girls and said "Oh, your name is Liz too" Girl 1 shook her head no. He then turned to the other and said "Oh then your name is Liz, right?" Girl two shook her head no as well. It was a pretty awkward silence before the other guy that was in their group said "It probably doesn't matter anyway". Eddie had a good laugh at this, asked if we wanted a drink, to which I of course said yes, and we went on about our way. When we went to settle up the tab before the end of the night, our waitress told us we didn't need to pay anything, the group playing pool took care of it.

Moral of the story-C*ck block Eddie George and get your bar tab picked up.

I'm %100 sure I did no sort of C Blocking whatsoever but the sheer embarrassment on Mr. 314's face when he didn't know the names of the girls he was with was well the price of admission, which of course ended up being 0.

I heard once that Terelle Pryor went to McFadden's, approached a girl at the bar, lifted his shirt, and proceeded to drop this bombshell of a pickup line:

"Want to touch my abs?"

Smooth.

I heard that Pryor would literally walk into a house party and say "So who's sucking my d tonight?" Of course that is hearsay, but I wouldn't put it past the guy. I actually got to play pick up basketball with Jared Sullinger at the RPAC last year, man that sucked.

@WILLIAM - I heard that he brought a megaphone to a few, announcing his arrival...

I had a roommate who was a bar back at Little Bar.  He said that he heard that back in '06, Hawk, Schlegal, and Carpenter would regularly close the place; and that the former two would have to literally remove the latter from the premises due to his penchant for getting belligerantly drunk...

Boone was an absolute lush.  I'm buddies with a former o-lineman (whose name I'll keep close but he led the first TD drive at Texas in 06)

Following home games, we usually gathered at my buddy's place and celebrated their dominance on the field. By celebrate, I mean Boone would drink 5x as much as anyone else and then usually start something by picking on the smallest guy or non-football player by saying "HEY, you looking at my GF???" naturally some drunk ass college student would be a smart ass back and then it would take 3-5 football players to keep Boone off a kid and just about the rest of the party forming a wall to make sure said kid doesn't get his face smashed in.

This happened no less than 6 times over the course of 2 years. Not to mention I had a psychology class with Boone where he dipped in the class for the entire quarter. One instance, the teacher took his spitter so he used the carpet for the next 45 minutes. Another time, after being roused from a deep sleep, he told the teacher to f*ck off.

HOWEVER....I have very fond memories of just about every other buckeye i've encountered...and I will share my greatest story ever...

As I have mentioned a few times, I worked for the athletic department from 2005-08 and had a front row view of many things the general public did not. The greatest event ever...

Leading up to the start of the 2006 season, the WHAC was undergoing final rennovations and Coach Tress took advantage of the inconvenience to hold many spring practices in the shoe. The only way to park 120 guys is to have them pull into the shoe and park in the concourse.

First week of two-a-days, second day of the week, we are assisting with parking the players in the south stands a-deck concourse. At the time, Teddy Ginn Jr. was rocking a 2005 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab.  Players had to be dressed on the field at 7:00am and here comes a black Colorado rolling in at 6:56am. I point to the right for Teddy to pull into a spot and he pulls into it...WHILE SIDE SWIPING THE WALL IN THE SHOE! Scrapes up the entire side of his Colorado and upon closer inspection, he had a flat tire.

Teddy gets out with an "OH SHIT?!?!" look on his face, Jamario O'Neal walks over looks at the Colorado and goes,..."Oh you just fine Teddy, that shit'll buff right out, we're gone be late to practice"

That shit wasn't going to buff right out. Anyhow, how things go (or went at the time) myself and a few guys took a buffer and some wax from the stadium and did what we could (actually proud of what we did) to make it look better.

Following the afternoon practice, we're giving Hartline a lift on a Toro and we see about 12 guys standing around Teddy's truck. We stop and realize they are trying to change Teddy's truck tire...have the truck on a jack, with Whitner, O'Neal, and Teddy underneath the truck changing the tire...THE TRUCK WAS IN NEUTRAL SWAYING BACK AND FORTH ON A JACK STAND!!!

Hartline about craps himself in amazement,...a TON of laughs are had, and we got the truck in park, p brake on, and the tire changed without any of the 3 losing an arm or leg.

This is an example of some of the things that go on inside the walls of the WHAC and the Shoe. You can't make these things up...and this is just one of MANY that I was privy to see and be a part of

My cool story is, following the "Cocktails and Hightops" celebration for the 1960 NC B-Ball team, our group ended up at the VC around midnight.  We had one of the players from that championship team (family friend) sitting at our table when in came Gordon Gee.  He walked over to congratulate Dave, and while greeting all at our table, I inquired about his  "O-H" pin.  He was not wearing it at the time, but informed me that he was wearing the bow tie pin instead because he had just returned from the funeral of an alumni/friend.  He wrote down my name and address on a VC napkin and promised to mail me an "O-H" pin on Monday.  The next morning, as we were entering the Schott for the B-ball game (at an obscure door, also) who happened to be standing there?  Yes, Gordon Gee.  He walked right up to me and said, " I think this is yours" and proceeded to take the pin from his lapel and pin it on me.  Quite a moment.  And yes, I had another pin show up in the mail addressed to me that following week along with a signed letter from tOSU president himself.  This is one of the reasons why he is such a beloved/great university president.

I used to live with and next door to a handful of football players at OSU and Boone would typically arrive with a full 24 or 30 pack of beer exclusively for himself just to get drunk (because he needed that many just to feel a buzz). He was a good guy, just really quite rowdy when drunk. We walked outside to find him trying to punch my roommate's windshield out one night and when my roommate yelled at him Boone said, "oh my bad, didn't know that was your car." (or something to that effect) and then moved on to the next car. He was generally a nice and fun guy though from what I could tell.

I had a class with Bauserman my senior year (spring 2011)... He was in my group with these two pencil-pushing know-it all girls that had no idea who the hell he was.  This was right around the time the whole tat-gate shit was going down and Joe had lots of unplanned meetings and practices and such so would text one of the girls that he was gonna be late/miss the gorup meeting for football.  And they would bitch and complain like crazy about it.  I tried sticking up for the guy but the girls were hearing none of it.

I always felt really bad for Joe in the 2011 season cause he was a super nice guy who just wanted to play football and get an education.  He knew he wasn't a star, and was perfectly content with being a game-managing backup.  Really hated seeing all the shit that got piled on him for being thrust in a situation that no one could have predicted.

Saw Pryor and his posse (dunno who but some old white guy was with him, agent? booster?) at Boston's on Nationwide after a Clippers game last year.  I was pretty suprised as it was after all the crap went down and he was on his way to the NFL.

Probably the only interesting part to the story is some girl got his autograph then proceeded to my group's half of the patio and asked one of my buddies for his autograph.  At his quizzical look, she matter-of-factly stated "It's probably worth more than his".

Was at an OSU football camp in '96 with some of my High School's underclassmen and one of them kept asking one of the "visitors" whom he thought was Rickey Dudley if he could have his autograph. He kept yelling "Rickey, Rickey!" "Rickey, Rickey!" "Can I have your autograph?" After a couple of minutes of this the said "visitor" turned around and said "My name is not Rickey. I'm Eddie George!" The kid almost peed himself! Funniest thing I've ever seen. And yes! Eddie gave him his autograph!

I'll never forget Jamar Butler at whatever O Patio used to be called back in like '05 or '06 sitting at a table drunk as hell with a girl sitting on each knee and he was just taking turns making out with each.

My favorite used to be JJ Sullinger because I swear I used to see him every other day almost and I'd always just shout "YEAH, JJ!" and he'd always turn around and give me the two finger point and shout back even though he had no idea who I was. Used to see JJ out around bars and drank with him a couple times. One night was drinking with him, Terrance Dials (cool as hell guy too) and Greg Oden was also at what used to be Miani's (late that summer going into his freshman year). Greg was hitting on my friend all night and allowed me to get my picture with him even though he wasn't allowing pics with anyone. As the pic was being taken he leans down in my ear and says you're lucky your friend is so damn fine. He called her a couple times that night and she wouldn't answer. He left a voicemail saying "Hey, this is greg...that large African-American fellow you met tonight..." He wanted to come over and hang out at our place but she wasn't interested.

Lived in Mack last year. My friends and I started playing a small pickup game out front of the building. Braxton Miller was waiting for a bus. About 10 minutes later, I gather the courage to go ask him to play quarterback for a few plays. He looked kind of shocked and humbled, and said "Yeah, sure man" and proceded to throw the football harder than any human being I've ever seen.

He overthrew me (we were using a smaller ball than he's used to), but it was awesome. Now when he wins the Heisman, I can say I was his wide receiver.

I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.

I mention this in my user info but I'll explain it a little better now.  Last year I took my Dad to the Indiana game.  We sat in 23c so after the game we were just kind of hanging out near that gate taking in the last little bit of game day.  My dad of course wants a cig, so we step away from the main crowd of people and into the first few rows of the parking lot.  We end up right next to a Ford Escape with a bunch of baked goods sitting shotgun and looking de-freakin-licious.  Hungry, my dad sees the stash and jokes "should we see if its unlocked?" dad finishes his cig and we decide to start heading for the car.

As we're walking back towards the shoe to rejoin the pipeline of people none other than E.Gordon Gee and Gene (we wont get a bowl ban) Smith walk right past us.  Unable to form a coherent sentence I resort to tugging on my dad's sleeve like a four year old to get his attention. I asked him if he saw who just walked by and he said "No. Who was it?" "Gordon Gee and Gene Smith!" I stammered.

So dad being dad immediately suggests we go say hello.  I was a little apprehensive and didn't want to seem like a goofball star struck fanboy but said what the hell.  Let's go.

*edited

Gene and Gordon both took about 5-10 minutes with us and several others who stopped to say hello too.  They were both very welcoming and kind enough to take pictures and chat.  Gene's wife even gave my dad her program and a hug.  It was surreal.  For just a few minutes i felt like i was just hanging out with some friends not the AD and Pres of The Ohio State University.

They thanked us for coming to the game and left us with a "go bucks" of course.  Gene and his wife climbed into a large black SUV and wouldn't you know it Gordon jumped in the Ford Escape with all the goodies.  my dad then delivered the classic line "Guess it's a good thing we didn't take those brownies"

I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.

I was trying to put mustard on my hot dog at a bball game and was failing miserably as it wouldn't come out. I look over my shoulder and see a man standing waiting behind me. I do a double take because that man happens to be Archie Griffin. Naturally I get weak in the knees and may have peed my pants a little while my dad is laughing off to the side. I finally just step aside and, I shit you not, one pump and Archie has his hotdog loaded front to back with no problem. He kind of looks over with a grin and my dad's cracking up and says "what? it's like you just got shown up by a two time Heisman trophy winner or something!" I couldn't speak just because it caught me so off guard.

I also remember Freshman year going to to Chipotle with a couple of buddies and bumping into Sabino, Herron and Posey (This was when Posey was in a walking boot and before he'd been handed the extra suspensions). Well my roommate walks up to Posey to say hey or something and in the process trips and lands on Posey's boot and foot. Posey cursed and dropped some expletives at my roommate, all the while Sabino and Herron are laughing their asses off. After everyone had settled down Posey came over to our table and just talked with us about school and the upcoming football season. The guy was really chill and as he left apologized to my roommate about the cursing.

I've got a couple:

-1997 - In high school I was a guard and played against Tim Anderson. I was a senior and he was a . . . . sophmore, I think??? Anyway, our scouting reports always listed the star player with a star next to their name and if a lineman decleated them during the course of the game, you got 2 milkshakes. I remember carbo loading at a team pizza dinner on Thursday night and my coach looks at me and says, "Eat up. You've got Anderson." Anyway, I was the smallest, but the fastest and most technically sound guy on the line (I did most of the pulling). Thank God I had a couple of years on the guy because he was a handful. Luckily, I managed to deflect him enough on most plays so that he didn't make a huge impact in the game. And on one play I fired off of the line really fast and jacked his shoulder pads into his neck and pushed him until he toppled over another dlineman who was on the ground. I got my two milkshakes.

- 1998 - Met Andy Katzenmoyer at a party. He is really cool to me and my buddies because he finds out that I lived in the same neighborhood and was friends with a career special teams player that was on the team at the same time. It was great until the one guy who lived in my dorm who was a Michigan fan (weird right?) started talking crap to him.

- 2002 - My roommate worked at Woody Hayes for a couple of years. He mostly did janitorial work. He came home one night complaining about scrubbing floors when the team was done with practice. He commented on how most of the guys walked around naked and were often in no hurry to get dressed. He continued saying that it really sucked because he was scrubbing floors and every time he looked up some guy's hog would be at eye level. This of course raised the question from the chick who was with us, "Who's the biggest?" Without hesitation my buddy says, "Michael Jenkins, dude is 7" flaccid."

- 2002 - Brian Brown doesn't get drafted in 2002 NBA Draft. He goes to blow off some steam that weekend by playing a pickup game at Jesse Owens South. Faceless, nameless student (me) gets dunked on repeatedly without mercy.

- 2009 - Having lunch with some friends on a Saturday at Molly Woo's in Polaris. Our table is next to the window that faces the mall's hall. TP walks into the mall and stops in front of our table while talking to some friends and waiting for some other guys to show up. It was me and two chicks who both went nuts. I wanted to leave the kid alone but they kept staring. The funny part was, you could tell that he was totally mugging it up because he knew they were watching. Eventually they ran out and got pictures with him. I ordered another beer.

-2007-2008 - Witnessed Alex Boonehead being a drunken moron multiple time at multiple places. As others said, always wanted to fight people half his size and generally acted like an ass.
